nothing is of no value, though... unless Nothing is actual an entity Remember, this is a lateral puzzle Here is an earlier post of mine which is reasonably relaiable: "The first "Nothing" = an entity which is specific. It is not tangible but can be seen and heard." |

Is the first Nothing (N1) specific enough that it would be a proper noun? Is it a certain person? place? movie? ship? is it a rare fruit? Does it have to be Namibia or could it be Azerbaijan? |

Is the first Nothing (N1) specific enough that it would be a proper noun? Yes Is it a certain person? place? movie? ship? is it a rare fruit? None of these - it is a conglomerate of stuff (that in one sense is nothing). Think in terms of electricity Does it have to be Namibia or could it be Azerbaijan? It could be anything as long as the amount of money was roughly the same. |

electricity is involved... is N1 a nuclear fusion power plant? No A nuclear plant is tangible - this "nothing" is not really tangible but it can be seen and heard |

*************** SPOILER ***************** I was struck by a news item entitled “Gamer buys $26,500 virtual land”. On reading the article I discovered that the “Virtual World” (of online role playing, computer gaming) that could be considered as “Nothing” commands a gross economic impact larger that some of the “Real World’s” smaller nations. Currently the phenomenon is equal to the Gross Domestic Product of Namibia and Jamaica. A related article emphasised how players enjoyed building up stocks and assets from their hard work in their role playing. “Players like going out and finding iron ore, smelting it into iron, hammering it into a sword, selling it for some gold pieces, so they can buy new clothes.” Of course these assets are all fantasy (or Virtual Reality). Perhaps another way of expressing “Virtual Reality” as a non tangible is to describe it as “Nothing”. In this case, judging by the time and energy invested by players in the Virtual World it seems that “Nothing” is more satisfying”.
