By David Burn (Woubit) on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 12:08 am: Are his supposed last words relevant? or at any rate, words that he is said to have spoken when very near to death? MOST DEFINITELY! By Sam Greene (Pandora) on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 - 12:44 pm: Did he give up on something? In a way, I suppose so - see answer above! *****SPOILER***** Oscar Wilde's last words were - reputedly, at least - "Either that wallpaper goes, or I do." Presumably, the wallpaper stayed precisely where it was, whereas Oscar departed this life, succumbing to meningitis following repeated ear infections. Thanks to everyone who contributed and particularly "Well done" to Woubit for putting the final piece into the jigsaw. |
