That part of the island is Mount Everest? So the penguin was really far above sea level? The only penguin to have climbed Mount Everest?

Having every book ever written stored on a disk for a supercomputer? Did this penguin wind up where the penguin would have wished the penguin had wound up several months prior to the winding?

Perhaps some other funpark?
A zoo?
A theatre?
Is Wendel even a flesh and blood penguin?
A poster store?

Were any penguins harmed in the making of this riddle?

Um... did he wind up at Walmart?
Ridley's Believe it or Not?
A Wax Museum?
Another Museum?
The set of a movie? A sound stage?
An alien landing site?
A bazaar?
Am I getting warmer with any of these?

Ok... still trying to narrow this down.
We've established that he was on Isabela island... the 'biggest' as it were....
There are hiking trails... and volcanos...

Was he near (and by near I mean within penguin walking distance or short swim)...
a volcano?
If so... Wolf? Darwin? Sierra Negra? Alcedo? Cerro Azul?
a city?
If so... Puerto Villamil? Santo Tomas? That unofficial one near Wolf?
One of the coves or bays?
If so... Tagus? Urbina? Elizabeth? Shipton?
Darwin's Lake?
Did he land on a cruise ship by accident?
Did Wendel get high on something and imagine all these other things I've asked about?
What kind of penguin fantasizes about fake doggy poop?

***************SPOILER*******
The Galapagos penguin lives the furthest north of any species of penguin, but usually stays on the southern side of the islands. The brave Wendell decides one day to venture to the northernmost point, inadvertently crossing the equator and making himself the only wild penguin in the Northern hemisphere. He was soon joined by the rest of his colony.
