Puzzle regulars may remember that I come from a Jewish family but have no religion & no ethnicity. This caused me to midunderstand an acquaintance's recent attempt to be considerate. In fact, I misunderstood it so badly that my response totally bewildred him. How come?? |

(like some pink sugary pig shaped sweets we recently offered to a vegetarian before realising they contained pork gelatine - yuck!) |

Your bewildering response: an action? or an attitude? emotion? anger? happiness? disappointment? laughter? Did he possibly not invite you to some event because he thought you wouldnt be able to eat the food? Like a pig roast or barbecue? Any other invertebrate animal? Dairy from any of these listed? Eggs of any of these listed? Fat from any of these listed? Improperly slaughtered animals that are otherwise kosher? Non-blood-drained animals that are otherwise kosher? Uncertified foods that are otherwise kosher? Foods cooked in a non-kosher environment that are otherwise kosher? Grape products made by non-jews? Does the attempt to be considerate involve his decision about what dish to serve? The way he prepared the dish? The way he served the dish? Whether or not he offered any to you? Is the reason he was preparing food in the first place relevant? Did he make the food for just 1 person? 2 people? 3? 4? 5?....LTPF list here...
