OK, 100 posts on this thread - time for a *****RECAP***** In his past, Jack has had affairs with many women. He has got a tattoo on his arm which shows one of these women. This woman was one of many, not a special one. Jack has now become a catholic monk. The affairs and becoming a monk happened in different countries. This is set in the 19th century. Jack is neither ex-military, nor has he been a gigolo, nor a doctor, nor a patron of the arts (or similar) nor a priest. He did not commit any crimes a court would have punished. He is not on the run. To find out: Why did Jack decide to become a monk? | ||

Time for a ***** SPOILER ***** 19th century. Jack, the sailor has always led a sinful life. At every port they visited, he had new women and never refused a glass of alcohol. One drunken night he decided to get a tattoo of his momentary flame. A few years later his ship gets into a fierce storm near the coast of italy. The ship gets wrecked and Jack is desperately clenching his arms around a piece of wood. In his desperation he promises to God "If you let me survive this, I'll give up my sinful life and pledge my life to you." Well, he survives, and, keeping his vow, he gives up on the women and the drink and becomes a monk. Thanks to all who played and special thanks to Martinfg who did most of the lateral work!!! | ||
