Is "it" a common, everyday activity? Something that might be done by either sex? Is it relevant what time of day she did it? Did she usually do it around the same time? If yes to the previous two questions, morning? Noon? Afternoon? Evening? Nighttime? |

Did this accident involve machines? Some object(s) she used daily in her work? Did she fall? Did something fall over her? Is the act of doing "it" important to her work? Is the title relevant? Is she the one rising and falling? Or just the flag? Is the rise and fall of something figurative? Or an actual, physical rise and fall? Does she become entangled with the flag, at the same time as there is a big weight which someone has elevated into the top of the flagpole, so that when she unties the rope the weight falls so that she goes to the top with the flag? After which the rope breaks, so that she falls into the ground and injures herself badly? Or maybe something which hangs on top of the flagpole falls on her? Or is it simply the flagpole itself? (is there a flagpole?) Perhaps the flagpole is usually steadied into the ground, but this time it is more loose and thus she pulls it onto herself when she tries to raise the flag. This takes place yesishly indoors, you say? Is the flagpole itself indoors? If so, how high is it to the roof in the room? Does this take place in a shop of some kind? Do they sell flags? Or flagpoles? Do they handle flagpole in some other way? (besides for having flags on them, either national flags or flags with some company name on them, or stuff like that) I.e. repairment? painting? construction? |

So, a less than 20kg, less than 1m long, irregularly shaped but squarish object made partly of plastic and metal was hanging on top of the flagpole? And it fell on her, causing here serious injury? But it's relevant that she works in a shop? And is it relevant what kind of shop? And they have lots of such objects in the shop? But do they sell them? If it's not logical that it's hanging there, is it at least a bit funny? |

Hmm, what's missing? When Stephanie Winterbottom, a senior worker of Wal-Mart Ootabagooga who had the honorific task of raising the American flag outside the shop each morning, went out to raise it yesterday, she hadn't yet drunk her morning coffee and wasn't very attentive to the surroundings. Thus she didn't notice that someone had hauled a shopping cart into the top of the pole. When she loosened the rope in order to fasten the flag, the cart came falling down on her and hit her severely in the head, and also indirectly made her break her spine. Today, the police arrested a 12-year drug-addict boy from the nearby suburbian area. His only comment to the press was: "I didn't do nothing. Besides, it was only meant as a joke." Also, two of her work comrades have confessed seeing the cart but not telling Stephanie about it, quote: "We thought it would be fun to see how she would react". Utah Regional Daily Paper, 7/4 2006. |

Quite right. The true story I got this from was a woman named Shantie Maraj of Pasadena California, at a Ralph's Supermarket. The pranksters have not been identified. It was still dark outside, and she never looked up. That's a SPOILER!! Good job Mani! |
