Just caught something... You mentioned to Eli that his personal quote opposes your title. Is this significant? His quote is "it is far better to regret something you have done, than regretting doing it." So it was something that he did and regretted as opposed to not doing and regretting. |

Did the man speak to the woman he thought was his wife? Give something to her? Perform any acton towards or against her? Harm her in any way? Was the sister deliberately impersonating the wife? |

So he wanted to kill his wife, and saw someone who he assumed to be her but was actually her sister and killed her. Was this for financial reasons? Jealousy? Anger? Did he also kill the twin's husband? Was the husband a witness to the first murder? Did the killer realise soon afterwards that he had made a mistake, or much later? Did he ever realise? |

So, he wanted to kill his wife and didn't realize she had a twin? Now the wife knows her husband wanted to kill her--and he is in jail because what could have been a perfect murder is not (because the one he wanted dead--his wife-- is still alive and possibly a witness)? |

When he killed the sister, did he think at that time that it was his wife? Or did he look at the body after the murder, assume it was his wife and feel guilty? Was it a premeditated murder or a sudden fit of anger? Long shot: did he see the sister in bed with her husband (or kissing him or whatever), think it was his wife having an affair and kill them both through anger? |

********SPOILER******** The two sisters did not like each other because the father had favoured the slightly older twin in the inheritance, causing the younger one to argue and claim equal share of the property. Eventually, they drifted apart and the wife of this man, neglected to tell her husband that she had a twin sister. So, when he saw her kissing her husband at *insert random place here*, he thought his wife was cheating on him with another man and thus, killed them both in a rage. Congratulations to all who participated and WELL DONE!! |
