Was in the car at the time? Did he crash the car?
Was he still in possession of the car when the accident happened?
Did he get into an accident as a result of stealing the car?
Was he injured in the accident?

If he had been driving his own car, would he still have crashed it? If he had stolen a different car?
Is there something relevant about the car which resulted in him crashing it? (eg, he was used to an automatic and it was manual)

Did he crash it into a stationary object? another car? a pedestrian? Was the thing he crashed into on the road?
