Ok, I'll try my first one:

It wasn't food, but he was told to partly eat it.
He was told it was fake, but he bought it anyway.
When he had bought it, he noticed it wasn't there at all.
Yet, he did not complain.

If people who do not remember (or did not see) the earlier puzzle want to carry on solving this version, I see no harm in that.

Well I haven't seen it before so i'll carry on.

Would the item have costly? more than EUR1 ? EUR10? EUR100? EUR1000? EUR10,000? EUR100,000?

Was he buying this item from a private individual? a shop?

Are bones relevant? Did the item contain bones? was it an animal?

When you say partly eat, do you by any chance mean chew, but not swallow?

I think the correct answer is No to all.

Are bones relevant? No Did the item contain bones? No was it an animal? Yope

I should mention that "exactly the same" refers only to the solution, not the question. So there is still a chance that you know the earlier one...

couple of ideas running through my head--
With regards to the "partly eat it" are we talking about real food? are we talking about really eating it? or do we focus on partly meaning he was only supposed to eat part of it? could "eat it" possibly mean "eat the cost" of something?

could the food possibly be an artwork display of food--painting/drawing/porcelain/etc.

is the fake "it" is this regarding a painting or some other art, perhaps? Is he buying a piece of artwork that looks like the original, but it is a fake?

Still on the artist slant--Maybe the thing that wasn't there was an artist signature?

is there a relevant location where he and the "it"s are together? more than one location?

are the "it"s on line 1 the same item? line 2? line 3? lines 1 & 2? lines 1 & 3?
would any item cost less than 1 euro?

was this contrary to his expectations?

Line 1:

Was it edible in the first place?
Was it used as a medication? food supplement? condiment? an appetizer ( instead of being "real food" )? something similar?
Was it seafood? oyster? "poor man's lobster"? "poor man's caviar"? "gold bullion"? ( it's not an animal, but I had to try... :-)

Was he to drink it? inhale it? rinse with it? keep it under his tongue? eat only part of it?

Line 2:

Fake as man-made instead of natural? made out of sub-standard ingredients?

Line 3:

Could it be purchased at a restaurant? supermarket? specialty shop? country fair stand? fast food place? road-side lunch track?
Was it packaged? served on a plate? ready to eat? raw?
Was all of it missing? part of it? part that should have been consumed?

couple of ideas running through my head--
With regards to the "partly eat it" are we talking about real food?
No - "it" was not food.
are we talking about really eating it?
We are talking about physically taking something into one's mouth and so on...
or do we focus on partly meaning he was only supposed to eat part of it? Yope could "eat it" possibly mean "eat the cost" of something? No

could the food possibly be an artwork display of food--painting/drawing/porcelain/etc. No

Ok, shortcut here: The "it" refer to one of two - let's call them 'entities', A and B, which are linked to each other but are not the same.
The six "it"'s refer to, from top to bottom: A-A|A-B|B-A.

would any item cost less than 1 euro? Possibly

if so is it the same person teilling him it was fake? And a straight Yes here.

the properties of A:

So the "drinker" is given some information about "A&B" by a "friend". He then buys "A&B" and finds no A in it.

Was "friend" serious when he suggested partly eating A? when he said that A was a fake?

Is the animal A a mascot? company symbol? brand character? a nickname for this drink?

Same FA as above - and I don't know whether one should call this "information".

Was "friend" serious when he suggested partly eating A? Noish - and still the same FA when he said that A was a fake? Same Noish

Could it be a "root beer"? It is not a real beer, and there is no beer culture ( the animal A ) in it. The original drink, not the more common soda, however, was made of some sort of root.

can't remember if this has been asked, but is A the container for B? is B sitting on top of A? is B next to A? is B near A at all?

still trying to flesh out the first sentence, sorry if it is a repeat/since we know B is soda, I am putting Soda in place of letter B:

First--is this soda that you drink (soda water/ cola) or is it possibly baking soda?

even though A wasn't food, he was told to partly eat it.
he bought some soda even though he knew A was fake.
When he bought soda, he noticed A wasn't there at all.

since A is a possibly a manmade material and possibly a biological byproduct, am I correct to assume that A is not ice?

did he buy B, the soda, to wash down A?

by the time he bought B, did A disappear? melt? disintegrate?

A is a 'yope' animal, possibly made of man-made material and possibly of a biological product. A did not exist at the end of the story, but it did not melt or disappear otherwise.

.....this is a VERY long shot... I haven't really been able to follow this one, but someone said that Brands are relevant, so...

Was he told to drink CocaCola because he thought it actually had a certain drug in it? So, the Coke wasn't food, it was a drink, so he "ate" it... he was told that there was no cocaine in it, but he drank it anyway, and when he found there wasn't any, he didn't care because it tasted good anyways?

I ask this because I remember reading a lateral puzzle about the drug being used in Coke to try to heal headaches, but they found it tasted better than it worked, so they sold it on the market...

It's just that the size of A isn't specified. We are talking about an object that "wasn't there at all", and one can imagine an object A of any size...

is A solid? Yes its spatial dimensions are measurable? Yes

can you buy A at a retail store?
is it sold by weight? length?
can you order up a custom A at length x width?
is A made in a factory? is it eventually purchased by the consumer?

quote:

possibly made of man-made material and possibly of a biological product.

does this mean "either/or" or "and"? in other words it could be made from one of those materials or a combination of them.

If you are willing to pay enough, you will surely find someone who will make one for you - but normally No.
is A made in a factory? It is quite possible that there is a factory somewhere that produces these objects, but it's unlikely is it eventually purchased by the consumer? No

Ok, so A is not a food, but he was told to partly eat it. Does this mean drink it? Consume it in any way? Or consume it in the sense that consumers of a product are the people who buy the product?

A is made of a material that can be both man-made and biological, but is not normally produced by humans for the purpose of selling?

Which of the bracketed words, if any, are most suitable?

A wasn't food, but he was told to partly eat A.
He was told A was fake, but he bought [some, the, a can/bottle/glass/cup of] coca-cola anyway.
When he had bought [the, the can/bottle/glass/cup of] coca-cola, he noticed A wasn't there at all.
Yet, he did not complain.

Consume it in any way - put it in his mouth? bite? chew? swallow? suck on?
after partly eating, does A remain in the body or is it removed?
Given that A is solid and it's dimensions are measurable, did he partly eat it in the sense that he ate a portion of it? But the size of A is not specified in this case so, this would probably be wrong or irrelevent... is it?

Is the material hard? soft? smooth? coarse? Does it have flat surfaces? Edges? Corners? is it curved?
Is A always a certain shape? spherical, cuboid, cylindrical, should i bother continuing?

"are these relevant..
a slogan? Only for a generous interpretation of the word 'slogan'
sign? Yes, most likely"

Does this sign mean an advertising sign? an instructional sign? sign language? informative sign? other type of sign?
Is this one specific sign, or a range of identical signs that might be seen in many different places (billboards and such).
Is a sign relevent to A? a specific sign? a sign relating to coca-cola? is the sign relevent to the logical connection between A and coca-cola?

Does the sign contain text? if so is language relevent? english or other?
Does the sign contain images? the coca-cola brand name?

Is the fact that it is a bottle of coca-cola relevent, would it be different if it was a can or cup?
Are we talking about a glass bottle or plastic bottle?
375ml? 600ml? 1.25 Litres? 2 Litres? Is this relevent?

Eheh...I got it. Invisible $$$poiler :

When Coca-Cola first shipped to China, they named the product something that when pronounced sounded like “Coca-Cola.” The only problem was that the characters used meant “Bite the wax tadpole.”
