South Korea has am ettiquette rule I've never encountered elsewhere. Once you think about it, it seems so logical you wonder why everyplace doesn't have it. What is it?????? |

Is there a specific place where the rule is practiced? is a person's age relevant? would two people alone somewhere engage in this ettiquette? is it a gesture? if so, would one person say or make the gesture and another person respond? |

So it has to do with entering a building, but not(ish) with going through doors. Does it have to do with doors at all? Avoiding accidentally hitting someone while opening a door? Does it involve closing doors? Locking or unlocking them? Is it something that someone inside a building would do to someone outside of it? Vice versa? |

so the "gesture" is done with the hands and the body, correct? Is this "gesture" a form of greeting? do the two people come into contact with each other when following this rule? (ie does the rule cause the two persons to touch one another with hands, body, etc.)? Or do their hands/bodies come into contact with something else? Do people of all ages follow this rule? Does anything vary about the rule when people of different age groups interact with one another? in the puzzle statement you mentioned that you have never come across this etiquitte rule... Does this mean that South Korea is the only place that has this rule? Could another Asian country possibly have this rule? Or, does this mean that you have never come across this rule in places that you have visited or studied about? |

are you expected to do the gesture because you are holding the item? or.. would one carry the item anticipating that it is needed for the upcoming gesture? If a person enters a public building.. he/she does the gesture one time only? if he/she goes out to, say, feed a parking meter, does he/she do it again when reentering? would one do the gesture spccifically in the presence on another person answering the door? would one do the gesture alone, without another person in sight? The item in the visitor's hand, is it brought to the building by the visitor? is it picked up outside the building and brought inside? is it offered to a person in the building? is it left in the building? |
