Sorry, I've been so busy lately!!! SPOILER Every Thursday evening I play "team trivia" at a restaurant/pub in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The way it is set up is that there is a "trivia guy"/DJ who reads questions out over the speaker system, and then plays a song. Each team has until the end of the song to bring their written answer to the DJ. There are 6 rounds of questions, and the top 3 teams at the end of the night win "in-house cash" in the form of gift cards to be used at the restaurant. Third place gets 10 dollars, second gets 25 and first gets 50. Although the DJ is given the questions to read ahead of time (Team Trivia has a league in the area, so to be fair the same questions are read at various participating locations), occasionally there is a really crappy question which the DJ (Paul) will replace with a question from that day's episode of jeopardy, often the final Jeopardy question. So, although I don't get off work until after Jeopardy airs, I record it (I love TIVO) every day. By the nature of TIVO, I can watch my recording anytime I want, but I always make sure to watch it right after work on Thursdays, so that I might have an edge at trivia that night. Sometimes, it works, and I end up with a little extra cash. |
