Is it relevant what type of fish it is? If not, is it relevant how big the fish is?

The relevant glass, is it a drinking glass? a window? glass from a frame? from a furniture? glasses? just a shattered piece of glass? If the last, is it relevant what is was before it was shattered?

The other relevant people;
1? 2? 3? 4? 5? More than 5?
Any of these things relevant
Gender?
occupation?
hobbies?
relationship with dead man?
age?

Is it relevant where the toll booth is? If so, is it in a location where you would expect to find one?

By toll booth, do you mean a place where they collect fees for driving on a road/bridge?
Did somebody try to pay the toll collector with a fish?
Was he frustrated that he didn't have the right amount of change?
Was the guy in the booth a friend?
Did the guy in the booth not believe the fisherman when he said he caught a fish 'this big' and so threw the fish at the toll collector to prove it?

In answer to your question, Suzycute, toll booths in the US do not usually have glass tops, although phone booths with glass tops were fairly common in the 70s and 80s. I guess some still exist today, although I can't say that I have seen one in quite some time. Now that cell phones are pretty much the norm, phone booths are almost a thing of the past here in the states.

Apart from crashing through the tollbooth was the fish instrumental in any other way which contributed to the man's demise?

Thanks for response on glass topped booths (of whatever kind) you forgot to say whether this had relevance or not to your tortuous riddle though.

Just a point of pedantry. Why did the tollbooth have a glass top? Is that standard in the US....it isn't here in the UK, sounds dangerous. Is it relevant?Ok, I didn't write the puzzle. I would have said phone booth. However it would most likely work the same way with a metal roof.

Was the man who dropped the fish parachuting? noishhangliding? bungy jumping? some other form of airborne recreation? yes

Was the fish dropped from a bridge? a rooftop? a mountain or cliff?no to all

Was the man holding the fish when he dropped it? or did it fall from his pocket? backpack? utility bag?

Did the man need to make an emergency exit from the plane? or was he skydiving for recreation (while holding a fish, of course)?

The pack on his back contained, instead of a parachute, a fish?

Spoiler A man went fishing and realized he was late to go skydiving, so he had to take the fish with him. However he dropped it in the air and, falling at such a speed, it crashed through a phone booth killing the man inside.

as I said, I did not come up with this

Was it likely that by teaching him this he'd misread/misinterpret/misevaulate a situation in terms of danger/risk etc.? through misapplication of the knowledge? misunderstanding of what it was he'd been taught?

Would it be an obvious, foreseeable consequence of teaching him this, to someone who then witnessed him enter into this situation that threatened his life (i.e. it would have been possible to percieve the risk to his life without knowing exactly what he was thinking)?

Was there a witness to the event(s) that threatened his life? relevant?

Would the situation be obviously dangerous to most adults?
Did he percieve the situation to be dangerous in any way?

Would he have died from:
quick search for a physical LTPF list of untimely deaths to replicate...
impact?
electric shock?
the other kind of shock?
something piercing them?
suffocation?
asphyxiation?
burning?
freezing?
heart attack?
allergies?
drowning?
explosion?
radiation?
poison?
a psionic death ray?
something else?

That post went in completely in the wrong place (apposed to partially?) ... perhaps I should try a puzzle that hasn't already been solved!? :P
