Did you use the words "my wife isn't very enthusiastic"? Did you imply that she wasn't enthusiastic about: your leaving the house? your drinking alcohol? your drinking alcohol with your friends? your getting drunk? your going to bars? your meeting other women? your doing some particular activity that you do when you're out with your friends? |

Did you use the words "my wife isn't very enthusiastic"? no Did you imply that she wasn't enthusiastic about: your leaving the house? your drinking alcohol? your drinking alcohol with your friends? this one but only on that occasion. She's normally quite tolerant your getting drunk? your going to bars? your meeting other women? LOL she definitely would have a problem with that but not relevant your doing some particular activity that you do when you're out with your friends? the exact words i used are relevant and the manner in which i used them is also |

Was the joke being played on you? the joke in this case is more an in joke between my friends and I rather than playing a joke on someone on someone else, by you? so no Did your wife know of the joke? no and not relevant Is this the reason she was not enthusiastic? no the actual reason she wasn't enthusiastic is not relevant . lets just say that i'd promised to mow the lawn that night and therefore she didn't want me to go to the pub given that this puzzle has gone quiet a little clue for you all . what i actually said (although not verbally) was "Wife is not enthusiastic" I ran a similar themed puzzle some time ago called "With Friends like this" |

Oh, oh - You were inviting them for WINE bibbing: Wife Is Not Enthusiastic??? din ding ding Spoiler I'm glad someone got that because it was dragging a bit. My mates and i used to invite each other for drinks by e-mail using sentences that the first letter of each word made a word connected to alcohal. Some examples would be Going Imbibing Now? Having A Rapid Pint? (HARP is an irish lager) and other silly stuff like that. Some of them were quite ingenious . However on this occasion i was unable to go having promised my missus that i wouldn't so i merely responded in the format that the question was asked. Well done lynne nice lateral leap there |
