The screen had art on it? The letters were scrambled? The words were in a foreign language? He had deliberately created some code to scramble messages? |

Dave was tap dancing as a part of a performance art piece. The piece was about breaking free of the technological chains that bind us, he was dancing, 'tapping' on top of his palm pilot. Naturally he could not read the words because the screen was destroyed by his dancing. The audience enjoyed the piece thoroughly (some enjoyed it so much they took pictures of it with their camera phones). |

For one, tap shoes in the Kalahari would be a sight to behold. Second, it would be the world's smallest performance on a Palm Pilot. Unless interrupted by a very small herd of elephants. ******* SPOILER ********* In August, the Discovery Channel reported on the equipping of Bushmen (indigenous to Africa's Kalahari Desert) with handheld Palm Pilot personal digital assistants to track animals and locate plants via special software. The illiterate hunters can tap screen icons representing various animals, the activities they're engaging in, and how many they see, with a global positioning satellite automatically recording the location. [Discovery.com, 8-1-07] Thanks for the hard work! |
