I suppose she did both things I had asked her to do. I would rather she hadn't. |

Be careful what you wish/ask for! Did she do them exactly the way you intended her to? Or just techinically correct but the process or outcome was different from what you expected? Were their some unwanted side-effects of sorts that resulted from her doing said things? Were the two things related? Is she related to you? |

Did you expect her to do them at all? If so, did she do them when you expected her to? Could you have predicted the outcome at any time before she did them? Is she a sister? Daughter? Mother? Wife? Relevant? Is anyone involved other than you and her? |

Anyhting to do with silly things parents say to their children? e.g Shut your mouth and eat your dinner. Or perhaps she misunderstood sarcasm something like "That's right go ahead and spill your juice all over the carpet"? Did your child take something you said literally when she shouldn't have? |

Was the reason why the outcome different from what you expected... Because of a change in circumstances? Because of a dichotomy of spatial relativity? Because you are not very good at predicting the future? Because you made a false assumption? Because you had a passive scrund? Because there was cosmic irony? Because she had done the same thing before with different results? |

Were the two things... things that would be done consecutively? simultaneously? nobody cares? Would it have been better if she hadn't done either? Had done one of the two? Had done the things at a different time? In a different place? In a different manner? Did you realize? Your mistake? Immediately afterward? A few seconds later? Ten years down the line? I believe the Ellimist once said something like, "Everything changes the future..." Is that quote relevant? Are all your base belong to us? |

Would it have been better if she hadn't done either? yes Had done one of the two? yes Had done the things at a different time? In a different place? Is she younger than 5? 10? 15? 20? Did any of the two things (ie doing something/avoiding doing something) involve SAYING something? Was anything broken in the process (of her obeying you?) Was the inconvenience a big one? Was it only an inconvenience to you (which did not involve any other person)? Or to her? |

They'd a caused a problem the previous night and I thought that by asking her to do two things if she got frightened, we'd avoid the problem I leave this to UK'ers. I'm very unfamiliar with Guy Fawkes night (I know that some gunpowder plot was foiled, something else...) I'll just chillax. the fact that there were fireworks going off in the night is the only way that the date was relevant. It could just as easily have been New Year's Eve |
