Alhucema: Is any of the pieces of music performed by him (either directly or previously recorded on the medium)? Noish, but explore. HINT: You may want to find out more specifically what "them" are, how many of "them" there are, which one of "them" he makes mistakes in, what "they" are, and the relationship between "they" and "them". HINT: He is not simply listening to the music, nor is he actually producing the actual music with an actual musical instrument, actually. |

No Were the tracks (either at the moment of the puzzle or previously) produced by actual physical musical instruments, as might be found in an orchestra? Perhaps three of the tracks were produced by actual musical instruments, but not those generally associated with an orchestra. or are they synthesizer patches? This may also exist, but it is not among the tracks that are critically relevant to this puzzle. |

I am nearly getting confused with this puzzle so far, so I'm going to go ahead with a *******RECAP*********** When he makes a mistake in one of them, they both stop. 1) "He" refers to a person. 2) "They" and "them" do not refer to the same thing. 3) "They" and "them" are music. 4) Determining specific songs may assist in solving this puzzle. 5) All of the relevant music is stored on the same DVD-ROM. 6) Different instrument tracks to the same songs are relevant. 7) At one point, the music of the most relevant tracks were produced with musical instruments. 8) "He" is not actually playing the music, and "he" is not necessarily the one who recorded the music. Still to discover: Who is "he"? What is "them"? What is "they"? Which of "them" is the one that, when he makes a mistake in it, "they" both stop? |

Alhucema: Is "he" a famous person? Not necessarily A musician? Am I a musician? One of The Beatles? The chances of that are highly unlikely, but it probably would not be correct to say that the answer is conclusively "no" Are "them" a famous song? Strictly speaking, no, because "them" in this case is plural. They? No. Like "them", "they", in this case, is plural (perhaps subtly implied with "both"). |

Alhucema: The songs - it would help to determine their exact titles, correct? It wouldn't hurt, although a list of every song that has some relation to this puzzle would probably more trouble to figure out than it's worth. However, you would probably want to find out at least one. Are any of "them" or "they" just instrumental? Yes Is human voice involved in any of the above? Too vague to answer He = you? Sometimes If you speak about "songs", do you mean all of the musical pieces involved? Also vague Are all the musical pieces of one period? Yesish If so, from which one (LTPF list of centuries)? 20th and 21st (more specifically, 1966-2007) |

******HINT***** When ANYONE makes a mistake in one of them, they both stop. 1) "They" and "them" do not refer to the same thing. 2) "They" and "them" are music. 3) Determining specific songs may assist in solving this puzzle. 4) All of the relevant music is stored on the same DVD-ROM. 5) Different instrument tracks to the same songs are relevant. 6) At one point, the music of the most relevant tracks were produced with musical instruments. 7) "Anyone" is not actually playing the music, and (s)he is not necessarily the one who recorded the music. 8) There are 73 of "them." 9) The relevant songs are from 1966-2007. 10) "Them" does not refer to different instruments/parts (guitar, bass, vocals, drums, etc.), but...

Bolapara: is surgery on intergalactic aliens in zero gravity relevant? Possibly, but not to this puzzle. Is a mistake actually being made? Whenever I do it, I make many mistakes. It takes MAD SKILL to do it without making any mistakes. |

And I swear I hadn't read your post number 1799! Until now. Assuming it is GH... if you make a mistake, the music in the game stops, right? Not only the guitar track, but much of the rest... if I remember correctly. |

**************SPOILER************ Arek' Fu: Guitar Hero? Indeed. And I swear I hadn't read your post number 1799! Until now. NOBODY reads my post number 1799! =[ Assuming it is GH... if you make a mistake, the music in the game stops, right? Correct Not only the guitar track, but much of the rest... if I remember correctly. Close enough. When he makes a mistake in one of them, they both stop. Our hero, the anonymous "Guitar Hero", is playing Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The lovely developers at Activision managed to separate the guitar track from the drums, vocals, bass, etc. on MOST of the songs. However, with "one of them", the song "Paint It, Black" by the Rolling Stones.
quote:The song is also featured in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock as a playable track, with an extended ending to avoid fading out like the original did (the game makes use of the master track). However, it is unable to be played in Co-op mode, as the bass and guitar tracks could not be separated (this can be heard in single-player mode also; when one makes a mistake, both the guitar and bass cut out).
