You may have noticed that usually the first question I ask on a new puzzle is intended to determine the reliability of the puzzle statement. It may seem extraneous, but it can be useful. |

Alhucema: Is the puzzle statement true? Not literally. But it is possible that someone would look upon the events of this puzzle and say, "He shoulda known better!" I have it Puzzle statement should read "He should have known better than to have 5 active puzzles in play at the same time leaving him open to accussations of hogging the forum" Possibly, but this would completely change the puzzle, and is irrelevant. Am i OTRT Nope. If it was apparent that I was hogging the forum when I PWN'd it, then it is quite feasible that I could have 2.4*10^3 puzzles active on this forum and people not realize it. Besides, it's not my fault that nobody asks any questions. :D |

No one except you asks questions on my puzzles, and I don't mind so much. Was he injured? Is he in a coma? Did he make a mistake? Financial loss involved? Other people involved? If so, 1, 2, 3, or more? Exact number relevant? Are time period or location relevant? |

Jenburdoo No one except you asks questions on my puzzles, and I don't mind so much. Yes Was he injured? Yes Is he in a coma? Possibly Did he make a mistake? Yes Financial loss involved? Potentially, but not really relevant Other people involved? I guess I have decided that nobody else is involved If so, 1, 2, 3, or more? Exact number relevant? I don't think so Are time period or location relevant? Not really I apologize for vague answers. I seem to have forgotten some of the specifics of this puzzle, so I am kind of playing this by ear. The final solution is set in stone, however. |

Nice first post, Paul. :-P And welcome to the LTPF. As for the mechanism of the injury, are any of these relevant? Blunt trauma to the head? To some other part of the body? Piercing of the skin by some instrument? By a body part of another person? Are any non-human animals relevant? If so, is piercing of the skin by some such animal relevant? |

*****SPOILER****** In South Carolina, a girl was walking along a road when she walked into a stop sign. "Ow!" she said. "Who put that there?" In central Brevard County, Florida, a traffic engineer was waking up. "OMG!" he said. "I have to be at work in two minutes!" He hopped in his car and took off down the road. In north Brevard County, Florida, a young girl approaching her 15th birthday was studying for her learner license road signs test. "Hmmmm. I guess you are supposed to stop at stop signs." Back in central Brevard, the traffic engineer was racing to his office. "I'll never make it in time! I know what I'll do! I'm just going to run any stop signs at four-way stops. Any other traffic should be stopped..." He ran a stop sign, then another, then another, racing through four-way stops. "I think I'm gonna make-" His car was t-boned by a public works vehicle transporting stop signs to a new development. He should have known better. The traffic engineer's vehicle was shoved through a stop sign and into a power line, which fell and knocked over two more stop signs. This caused a blackout for a third of the city. Meanwhile, dense smoke came out of a factory that had ceased operations with the termination of power - a factory that produced, among other things, stop signs... |
