When he mentioned the organ he got verbally abused. My first effort after a brief spell of puzzlers block. Warning: somewhat silly. |

Is the type of organ important? yes found in humans? yes is it part of circulatory system? digestive system? endocrine system? lymph system? nervous system? Damn, time to take another stroll down "limited knowledge avenue". I'd say endochrine but i'm not sure, pretty sure it's not the rest though. In fact to save some unnecessary guessing i'll tell you that it's the liver |

This man who verbally abused Melvin: Can we call him Dennis? Was Dennis present when Melvin mentioned the liver? Was Melvin present when Dennis verbally abused him? Was Dennis's verbal abuse spoken? written? other? Was Melvin's mention of the liver spoken? written? other? Dennis realized that Melvin meant non-human liver, but yopeishly realized that he meant "liver that you eat" - did Dennis think that Melvin was talking about eating a liver that Dennis didn't think should be eaten? (e.g., the liver of Dennis's pet cat?) Does Melvin work in the medical field? Does Dennis? |

This man who verbally abused Melvin: Can we call him Dennis? Sure. It's an improvement on Melvin anyway Was Dennis present when Melvin mentioned the liver? {ooh how do i answer this i'll say yope} Was Melvin present when Dennis verbally abused him? same answer as above Was Dennis's verbal abuse spoken? this written? other? Was Melvin's mention of the liver spoken? this written? other? Dennis realized that Melvin meant non-human liver, but yopeishly realized that he meant "liver that you eat" - did Dennis think that Melvin was talking about eating a liver that Dennis didn't think should be eaten? (e.g., the liver of Dennis's pet cat?) no not this . There is a conversation going on here and it's only at the end when Melvin mentions liver that Dennis loses his temper. I should say that by the end Dennis realises Melvin means the type of liver you would normally eat Does Melvin work in the medical field? Does Dennis? no to both |

Over the phone and over the radio? At the same time? By phone and then by radio? By radio and then by phone? Was it a two-way radio? Or broadcast radio? If the latter, was Dennis listening to Melvin on the radio? Was Melvin listening to Dennis on the radio? Was one of them a caller to the other one's radio show? Is Dennis a chef? Does he work in a restaurant? A food shop? A butcher shop? A factory? |

So Melvin mentions liver earlier in the broadcast/their conversation and Dennis doesn't realize he is referring to the eating kind? Does Dennis get annoyed at the point that he realizes Melvin is talking about liver that people eat? Prior to this point does he think Melvin is talking about the organ in the human body? Does this conversation have anything to do with donations? |

So is Melvin's job in radio? Is he a host? a reporter? an entertainer? Was Melvin interviewing Dennis? Was the joint radio appearance prearranged by both Melvin and Dennis? Did Dennis realize he was on the radio? Was Melvin making a prank/crank call to Dennis? Is it relevant what kind of restaurant Dennis works in? Is it a restaurant that takes orders over the phone? Was Melvin pretending to order some food from Dennis's restaurant? |

Wow -- I am amazed at how quickly Buzzard was able to get this far. Did the abuse occur because Dennis realized it was a crank call? The key part of the conversation apart from the order -- it occurred prior to the order itself? Was it a setup for the bogus order? For example, asking Dennis if they make all kinds of pizza? |

Eh, some say "lateral mind," others say "lucky guesser." :P This key part of the conversation was not something that caused Dennis to suspect that Melvin was calling for any reason other than to order a pizza? Would something like it be a part of any typical phone call to order a pizza? Was Melvin providing information about himself? His name (presumably a fake)? His address? Was he asking for some information about the restaurant? Its menu? Its prices? Is some sort of special promotion involved? Is it relevant that Dennis both answers the phone and makes the pizzas? Was Dennis working alone on this occasion? Would the puzzle work if Melvin were talking to someone who just took orders, but didn't make pizzas? Or did someone else answer the phone, and Melvin asked to speak with Dennis? Are there any other relevant details about Dennis's restaurant? Its name? ("Hannibal's Pizza"?) Its location? |

Is a pun on "deliver" relevant? yes well done "Do you deliver pizzas" vs "Do you do liver pizzas" or similar? exactly right.. ******************Spoiler**************** Melvin is a radio DJ who does a daily crank call on his show. He picks on Dennis constantly because Dennis is a notoriosly cranky Pizzeria owner. On previous occasions Melvin had rung Dennis and asked if they did takeaways and when Dennis said yes Melvin asked him what 12 minus 7 was. On this occasion Melvin rings and asks Dennis "Do you deliver" . When Dennis says yes Melvin proceeds to order a liver & onion pizza. Dennis angrily states that they don't put liver on pizzas so Melvin says "But you just said you do liver". Cue Dennis who realises it's another crank call letting go with a torrent of abuse. Hope you enjoyed this silly little puzzle |
