Was the ladder: a normal ladder leaned against something? A vertical ladder fastened on something? A rope ladder? Stepladder? Did the ladder: slip? Come loose? Fall over? Fall apart? Did he put the ladder there? Did he move it? Damage it? | ||

Is it relevant that walking under a ladder is considered bad luck? Did the man think that a 2nd "bad luck" act would negate the first (2 wrongs make a right - type thing)? So he intentionally walked under the ladder? Did the man do anything with the penny near the ladder? Under it? There was a different man up on the ladder, right? Did the man up on the ladder do something which caused the ladder to fall? | ||

So the man walked under a stepladder (that's the name of this type of ladder), the bar hinge fell apart and the ladder collapsed on top of him, killing him? Did he cause the ladder to collapse there and then? Or did it collapse because of something he had done earlier? Was it his ladder? If he hadn't found the penny: would he have avoided walking under the ladder? Or would he walk under it but not cause the collapse? Did he cause the collapse by trying to get away from under the ladder? By trying to avoid walking under it? Was the ladder unsafe and he simply bumped the wrong part at the wrong time causing it to collapse? | ||

Fine............ *******SPOILED*************** A superstitious man found a penny, but as he was of bad sight, he did not see that the penny was tails up until he had picked it up, therefore he tried to mitigate his luck, but nothing (that I could find) says that you can mitigate bad luck brought on by a penny. Some time had passed,and as he thought that he had mitigated his bad luck, he walked into a ladder, due to a factory defect, the bar hinge broke killing him. |
