Does the puzzle statement mean that if something goes wrong, it has some benefit? Which is greater than the extent to what "it" is "bad"? |

Anything to do with the comic strip by Lynn Johnston? With marriage? Any other relevance to the title? Does the puzzle statement mean that you (or somebody) is happy that something is bad? Bad = something gone wrong? Something inedible? Something evil? Something kewl? Is a particular person or persons relevant? If so, 1? 2? 3? More? H/A/M? Is location relevant? Time period/era? Is an action of some sort involved? |

Is the person who is happy that something is bad happy: - just out of malice - because there is some advantage for him/someone else Can we call the happy person Mark and the other relevant person Dave? Does something bad happen to Dave? Does Mark know Dave? Does Dave know Mark? If so, is the relationship of M to D rather friendly? Indifferent? Hateful? Same questions for the relationship of D to M. Any of them famous? Relevant? |

Is something broken or damaged? Are Mark and Dave in an adversarial position? Have Mark and Dave ever met face to face? Are they pen pals? Lovers? Relatives? Do they know of each other, but have not met? Have they met in any sense at all? Mark is happy that something is "bad." Does it confer an advantage to him? Or to Dave? the puzzle lives. is it a liquid? a powder? if a liquid, is it thick? thin? is it transparent? translucent? what color is it, mostly? [LTPF simple color wheel], please? is it sticky? toxic? is it a household chemical? is it used in the kitchen? the bathroom? the living area? the dining area? a bedroom? other room in the house? inside? outside? in the garage? in the garden? on the lawn? is it used by itself, or does it require an applicator or dispenser? or other device or utensil? does one have to do something to it to have it be useful? (is it useful? or FA? seems to me it would be so, if it's "good," but this is the LTPF, where subjects in puzzles die gruesome deaths, among other vicissitudes). can you buy it in a store? does the packaging indicate that it's bad, or that it's good? that it's bad (as in, dangerous), but good, as in gets the job done? not sure if I saw this as Q&A - if it were not bad, would it be any good? as good? better? worse? just plain bad? if it were good, would it be bad? or still good? any better? worse? would it have any value? if it's bad, and that's good, if it's really bad, is it then really good? if it did not exist at all, would that be profound? (don't know where that Q came from - it's late - but I like it... an existential sort of puzzle, it seems to me). (future puzzle - which of those questions were topologically identical to which others, if any? and can I let you figure out whether the questions have any meaning? or relevance?) |

the puzzle lives. Hooray! is it a liquid? a powder? Neither. if a liquid, is it thick? thin? is it transparent? translucent? Probably this. what color is it, mostly? [LTPF simple color wheel], please? Colorless - but the color yellow is somehow relevant. is it sticky? Yes. toxic? No. is it a household chemical? No. is it used in the kitchen? Sometimes - I use it in the kitchen. the bathroom? Probably not. the living area? Possibly. the dining area? Possibly. a bedroom? Possibly. other room in the house? Some rooms probably. Some more likely than others. inside? This. outside? Usually not. in the garage? Possibly. in the garden? No. on the lawn? No. is it used by itself, or does it require an applicator or dispenser? or other device or utensil? It is not used by itself, it's an integral part of something else. does one have to do something to it to have it be useful? Yesish. (is it useful? or FA? seems to me it would be so, if it's "good," but this is the LTPF, where subjects in puzzles die gruesome deaths, among other vicissitudes). It is useful. No deaths, gruesome or otherwise, are involved. can you buy it in a store? Yesish. does the packaging indicate that it's bad, or that it's good? Neither. that it's bad (as in, dangerous), but good, as in gets the job done? It's not dangerous, and it gets the job done. not sure if I saw this as Q&A - if it were not bad, would it be any good? as good? better? worse? just plain bad? It it was not bad, it would not be good. if it were good, would it be bad? or still good? any better? worse? would it have any value? It would be bad if it was good. if it's bad, and that's good, if it's really bad, is it then really good? If it's even more bad than it is, it will be useless. if it did not exist at all, would that be profound? (don't know where that Q came from - it's late - but I like it... an existential sort of puzzle, it seems to me). I love late night questions (: It is useful, but civilization would do just fine if it never existed. (that's big enough, I'm guessing...) does it have moving parts? is it electric? do you turn it on to use it? open it up? slide something? does one use it frequently? seldom? rarely? is it used for (svv of) cleaning? when one acquires it, is it bad, and ready for use? is it used for something other than its bad qualities? typically? |

Post-it Notes? YES! Perhaps the sticky stuff on the back is some failed chemistry experiment? Indeed, the creation of the glue was an accident. *****SPOILER***** The glue on Post-it notes is a really bad glue - which is what makes it good for this particular use. Thanks for sticking with this puzzle, so to speak =) The puzzle statement is a fictional piece of a conversation between two employees of 3M: Dr. Spencer Silver, one of the inventors of the glue, and Art Fry, the guy that came up with the idea of the Post-it notes. |
