Quaver = eighth note

John Cage relevant?
Is there an actual piece of music relevant to this puzzle? Is a performance relevant?

Was he tired of modern musical notation (today's system of notes, lines and spaces, staffs, clefs)? some other form of musical notation? the musical notation in a specific piece?

So he was still composing during the time he stopped writing notes, right? Did he memorize the music instead? Write it down some other way? Record it? Improvise/create music without making any record of it?
