Is this from a science fiction story? Under what circumstances does "part of a star" have properties of an asteroid?... The primary properties of an asteroid are that they aren't a planet or comet, and they orbit the sun. Or is asteroid used in its literal meaning of "small star"? By star do you mean the Sun? Or a star in the same sense as the Sun? | ||

HInt: i think i might have put this on a little bit late. so i think i will spoil it. spoil! it is from the mini series IMPACT the piece of the brown dwarf is extremely magnetic and is throwing the moon into a crash course with earth, so they send up astronauts and use an electro magnet to reverse the polarity of the dwarf to throw it into the sun. | ||
