My first thought was rolling the tongue over to the side, or curling the tip into a W. I guess not though.... I can see how that would be fitting. On a related aside, I recently told a friend I thought there ought to be a word for words like that, sort of the equivalent of onomatopoeia but with imitating movements instead of sounds. For example, "lick". Anyway, back to the puzzle: Does it require movement of the arms to prashck? the legs? does it require speaking? |

(Is this now the LTPF list of potentially annoying bodily functions?) It could really include any of these, though it would be unlikely - what's annoying is the result, not the action |

Prashcking is an action that anyone can do given that he/she knows about this action. It involves communicating something to someone. This can be annoying to both the prashcker and the person this is communicated to. |

Does one communicate in a certain language? Is the communication electronic? Face-to-face? Is social networking involved? |

Does one communicate in a certain language? Is the communication electronic? Face-to-face? Is social networking involved? Possibly to all; the medium is irrelevant. |

Ooh, I bet that's it. And this was his really convoluted way of informing us he lost. Or, if not, does the the communication take the form of "I just _______"? |

***SPOILER*** Is it a meme? Is it The Game? YES! I was, in fact, thinking of The Game originally, but prashcking is losing any game where you try not to think about something (e.g. the famous polar bear example.) And you don't have to say "I lost the game" to make someone lose, right? You just have to communicate it in some way. Oh, and I lost the game! |

Dangnabbit, now I lost too. I hate The Game. If you don't know what it is, don't click the link, else your life become more and more miserable. Great puzzle though! |

...and thinking about it, everyone who ever goes through the archives and finds this will...well, you know. |

Ah, flashbacks to high school. People would come on the intercom during play rehearsals to say "Attention, everyone: I just lost the game." Considering it's impossible to win the game, the real point of the game is to find creative ways to tell people you lost. Which Fermat has succeeded at spectacularly. |

Oh, and I might use that "prashcking" euphemism at some point in the future. So thank you for that. |

The Game is taking over people's minds... the finger-L symbol, prashcking, other losers, ... [continue LTPF list of things that could make one lose the game] Recently caught myself thinking "I lost the game" (upon seeing that as a messenger status) without actually thinking about the game... |

I've seen a recent uprising of Facebook statuses announcing that someone, somewhere, has just lost The Game. Although, this puzzle has given me more appreciation for The Game, and has made me want to come up with some creative, diabolical way to announce a loss...though I doubt I'll ever top this puzzle. Brilliant puzzle, Fermat, in more ways than one! |
