My first try. Here goes: A man comes home and finds his wife in their bedroom with another man. He does nothing. The next night he finds his wife at home with a different man in the bedroom. He shoots the man, and then kills himself. |

Welcome to the forum! Is the wife cheating on him with Man 1? With Man 2? Or is Man 1, say, repairing their bedroom phone? |

Is the wife cheating on him with Man 1? Yope. They are having sex, but the man in question doesn't have a problem with it. With Man 2? No. Or is Man 1, say, repairing their bedroom phone? No. As stated before, they are having sex. |

Does the man have just the one wife? Same spouse in each case? Does he kill himself for the obvious reason (i.e. remorse and/or fear of retribution/justice)? Or does he kill himself for a different reason? Does he kill himself immediately after shooting the second man? Or is there a time-lag? Does he shoot the man dead? Or merely wound him? Or perhaps merely take a picture of him? Does he expect to see Man A in his bedroom? Does he expect to see Man B in his bedroom? Does he mistake Man A for Man B? Is Man B also having sex with our hero's wife? Is our hero a swinger? A pimp? A fetishist of some sort? |

So our hero (or antihero) is a pimp, married to a prostitute? On the first occasion, she is entertaining a client, so it's business as usual? But the second man is: a police officer? some sort of law enforcer? a friend of his? a relative of his? of hers? another client? someone he knows? or a stranger? a journalist? someone likely to expose his crimes? Is any relevant information exchanged between the two men (OH & Man B) before the shooting? |

Has the officer arrested the prostitute? And the pimp is worried that she'll tell about what he does? So he doesn't want to get arrested, and shoots the cop? |

Balin has almost nailed this one so I'll spoil: ************ SPOILER ************ The man is a pimp who is prostituting his wife. The second night he recognizes the man as a cop he has unpleasant dealings with in the past. He panics and shoots him upon seeing him, then realizes this makes matters even worse for him, so shoots himself. |
