I could've told the truth, but chose to blame the rust. They said it was okay. |

Have you used the camper since the problem started? I have lived in it. Is the camper currently on blocks? No, but it has four supports that are extended to blocks on the ground. The supports are retractable, but the mechanism for this is rusted. Or does the second party want to use the camper? Not use. But you're not sure, Correct. and don't want anything to go wrong, Partly this. so you say it can't be towed because of the rust? Yes. |

To be precise, they were hosting a rock festival at our airfield, and wanted all campers removed from the particular area where mine was. I told them it was rusty and couldn't be moved. I did not tell them the truth - it is indeed rusty, but I don't know if it can be moved or not. Now what is the truth? |

Would you need to take everything out of the camper in order to move it? And that would be a pain? |

Would you need to take everything out of the camper in order to move it? No. And that would be a pain? The thing I avoided doing would be a pain. |

Would you have needed to do something to the camper before moving it? While? After? |

Would you have needed to do something to the camper before moving it? This. While? No. After? But this also. |

Would you have needed to attach something to it? Would it have been to the inside of the camper? Outside? |

Would you have needed to attach something to it? Yope. Would it have been to the inside of the camper? Outside? This. Hint: The location of the rust, as mentioned earlier in the puzzle, is relevant. |

The rusted part is the mechanism for the supports that extend to blocks, right? Do you not want to put tires on the camper? Take it off the blocks? Move the blocks? |

Are there already tires on the camper? Would you have to lower the supports? And that would take a lot of work? |

Are there already tires on the camper? Would you have to lower the supports? Yesish - first retract, then lower. And that would take a lot of work? Yesish - the problem is more specific than that. |

Would you have to go under the camper to lower the supports? |

Would you have to go under the camper to lower the supports? Yes, but that's not the problem either. |

Is the problem involved with the supports at all? Would you need to put fuel in the camper? (Wait - campers don't need fuel, do they?) |

Would you need to remove the supports entirely? Disattach them from the camper? And that would take a lot of work? Relevant exactly how the supports are attached? Would you need to de-rust the supports? The mechanism? |

Would you need to remove the supports entirely? Disattach them from the camper? No to all, but OTRT. And that would take a lot of work? Therefore irr. Relevant exactly how the supports are attached? Yope. Would you need to de-rust the supports? The mechanism? Probably, and that's a contributing factor but not the main one. |

Are the blocks at all relevant? Or just the camper and supports? |

Does the mechanism require a tool to adjust? Can it be accessed easily? |

Is the tool complicated to use? Would it typically be found in a toolbox? Is it a handheld tool? Electric-powered? Specific to the mechanism? Do you have the tool easily accessible? |

Is the tool complicated to use? Would it typically be found in a toolbox? Is it a handheld tool? Electric-powered? Specific to the mechanism? Do you have the tool easily accessible? No, I don't have the tool at all! About time to post a ****SPOILER**** A big rock festival was being hosted on our airfield (not really "our", it's owned by the city). The planners requested for all campers to be moved away from a certain area. My camper is standing on 4 retractable legs, the retraction mechanism is rusty, and I don't have the tool for turning it (I imagine it would be a crank with a big hex socket on the end). I didn't want to go through all the trouble of getting the tool, getting rust remover, and a car for pulling the camper (I don't own a car) - especially when it was possible that I wouldn't be able to move it anyway. So I took the easy way out and just told them it was too rusty to move, and they let me keep it there :-) Good work, special thanks to Balin for persistency! |
