"Faced his fear" ... was he really afraid of something in real life but on the stage he knew he cannot be hurt? Like, for example: he is afraid of flying and in the play he is supposed to play a pilot? Or of water and he is a ship's captain in the play? Or of women and he portraits Don Juan (hmmm, I don't think that's the one)? Something along these lines? |

Is it a well-known fear? Heights? Spiders? Enclosed spaces? Would it matter if he faced his fear seven times? Or eight times? Would he have just as much fun if he faced his demon (say) eleven times? Would the puzzle work if he faced his fear just the once? Does he have a morbid fear of puzzles? Not Russian roulette, is it? (I initially thought of the six-shooter, but it's hard to imagine how that might be fun in anyone's definition. Unless he was suicidal.) |

Wouldn't matter either way Would he have just as much fun if he faced his demon (say) eleven times? Definitely, and he'd have likely had more fun. Would the puzzle work if he faced his fear just the once? Yes Does he have a morbid fear of puzzles? Hee hee, definitely not. =) Not Russian roulette, is it? No (I initially thought of the six-shooter, but it's hard to imagine how that might be fun in anyone's definition. Unless he was suicidal.) I can't imagine how it would be fun either. Although I did just come up with a potential puzzle. |

Annie? Is it the role of Sandy, from the musical Annie? Well, I did act in Annie once, being dual-cast in the roles of FDR and the policeman, which meant I had to be around a dog, and on stage at that, but...no. Good guess though. Remember, my role involved singing. |

So, a singing dog...Scooby Doo? Bolt? Marmaduke? Charlie Brown (and you were Snoopy)? This one! And we all know what that means.... **********SPOILER********** In my junior year of high school, I played Snoopy in the school production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. The irony, of course, is that a person afraid of dogs (me) was portraying a dog on stage...but the show was completely awesome, and I had a whole lot of fun doing it. We performed it six times, over two weekends, which resulted in me rushing to a baseball game between two showings (I was playing in the game), only to learn later that I hadn't quite removed all of my stage makeup, so I was playing with faded white streaks all over my face. Oh well. Great job, everyone, especially Rbruma and Woodworm for a good chunk of the background, and Ixoye for the finale. Now check out my new puzzle at the bottom, as well as my other two active ones, which are starting to dry up. |
