My experience with vihslems have made me despise them, such that I cannot stand them even when found outside of normal usage. What is a vihslem? |

Are they: Humans? Animals? Objects? Alive? Dead? Inanimate? Found on Earth in a specific place? If so, LTPF list of continents? (I presume they're at least found in the US, if the "my" is really you, Balin...is it? Or is this FYOI? FSEI? Taking place currently? |

Is it a beep? It can be this a buzz? But is usually this a click? Never this a musical melody? But could also be this, although it would not be as annoying. or is it a series of several sounds in a particular order? No |

It wouldn't be ::shudder:: the sound of an alarm clock, would it? Oh, it would, it would. (And ditto on the shudder.) **********SPOILER********** A vihslem is the incessant blaring, beeping, etc. of an alarm clock, which, having had to suffer through that HORRIBLE NOISE! throughout high school and into college, I can no longer stand to hear, even when the sound is used for TV commercials or radiomercials. Excellent work, everyone, and nice solve, Kalira. |

Last night, someone I was with randomly started singing that Disney song (which he informed me was from Aladdin) that starts "A whole new world...". I immediately remembered that a former roommate had that set as his vihslem (he used his phone as an alarm clock). What's worse, he was the kind of person who takes like five rings of his alarm clock to wake up every morning. It was VERY annoying to have to hear the first two lines of that song about ten times a week. |

That sounds...truly miserable. No other words can be used. My alarm clock just beeps - not as bad as the one I used in high school, which BLARED. I remember, several times, having the desire to smash it. Preferably with a golf club. When I'm away, and use my phone as an alarm, I set it to my ringtone, which is a much better song than anything from Disney (by which I mean "Livin' On a Prayer"). That's not such a terrible vihslem, but it still means I have to wake up. |

I have an unfortunate tendency to ignore or hit snooze on my alarm a ridiculous number of times. In grad school, I resorted to using three alarm clocks in various corners of my room so I would actually have to get up to deal with them. Now I have Clocky to help out (don't leave your volume too high for that clip, but it's not the normal evil alarm sound). Better since it's a bunch of random noise instead of the evil incessant blare of a normal alarm, but sadly, I think I'm starting to get used to him. May have to move him somewhere else in my room, give him some more room to roam -- though I'm not sure how my cat will feel about that :-) (Also, potentially interesting as he might make someone more prone to dreams involving Star Wars...) |

My 8:00 (AM and PM) alarm on my phone plays "Defying Gravity" from the musical "Wicked", to remind me when it's time to take my anti-seizure meds. |
