The answers should have been: Today (Nov. 2) is relevant, Halloween is yesishly relevant, and deathday is the same day each year. HAF=mother? sister? Yes. cousin? sibling? In fact, I like to call her "sibling" instead of by her name (Heather) by the way. It used to annoy her...but I have too many friends named Heather, so it saves everyone going "Which one?" Irrelevant, though. aunt? is this really a holiday, It's a religious holiday in some cultures that one might find on a list of bizare holidays? all hallowes eve relevant? Sort of, and better phrasing than Halloween did the HAF relative say "Happy Deathday"? No. is something electronic 'dead'? is it a sad occasion? My printer is dead but it's completely irrelevant. It's All Souls Day today. Is that relevant at all? I once went to an All Souls service in an Oxford chapel. They were doing a requiem for the departed. It was very moving until the celebrant started singing the names of dead people. All on one note. This went on for several minutes, rather like singing out of a telephone directory. Unfortunately, I got the giggles and had to scuttle out. I have never been back to that chapel. | ||

It's All Souls Day today. Is that relevant at all? Well, I was thinking Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) which does, in fact, share the date with All Souls' Day. That figures out the puzzle statement on the surface, but there's more to this story. Why is my sibling involved? *grin* I once went to an All Souls service in an Oxford chapel. Ah, the Mexican day of the dead. It's a very happy celebration, isn't it? It is. As our state has Mexican heritage, we made art projects for it at school. Is your sister dressing up in a pageant of some kind? No, the actual celebration of Dia de los Muertos is irrelevant; we aren't Mexican and we never celebrated it at home. There's another use of Deathday that's more relevant (Dia de los Muertos was only relevant in that it's today, and to get you hooked on "celebration".) Is she one half of a dragon?Haha, she's only a Dragon in the Chinese sense. | ||

Harry Potter? Yay, Balin! Harry Potter and the... Oh, all right, I won't squish every single detail out of you, that's good enough for the ***SPOILER***. In "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", the second book and film of the Harry Potter series, the ghost "Nearly Headless" Nick invites the intrepid trio to his "Deathday" party, celebrating the day he died. It's clearly a spin on a birthday party...more or less celebrating his "birth" as a ghost rather than a living person. So on this Day of the Dead, my sister's 22nd birthday (two twos, after all...second book and second movie), I say "Happy Deathday" in honor of our shared love of Harry Potter. *grin* | ||
