The colder it gets this year, the more I find myself liking potatoes. Why? |

aww, but she just solved my CMTA puzzle! Do you like them served any particular way? (*barely stops self from asking in "Green Eggs and Ham" fashion*) Boiled? Fried? Mashed? Baked? Potato soup? Stew? As an accompaniment to some other food? Do you like particular toppings on them? (butter, sour cream, cheese, vegetables, bacon...) |

Now, even though the puzzle is not about me, I must admit that couldn't help but grin reading the opening statement. ^^ And thanks, Kaylee :-) Now back to topic... Do you actually eat the potatoes? Or do you do anything else with them? Such as making a poultice out of them? I'm not sure if that's the correct translation of whan I intend to say. What I mean is putting some mashed potatoes into a cloth and putting that on you for the warmth. |

Like a heat pack? I didn't realize you could make one out of potatoes...hmmm...that's a new idea to me. *grin* I'll consider that when it gets cold here (and yes, it does actually get cold in California, despite what some people believe about the Golden State, LOL...although perhaps not as cold where I am as it may be elsewhere.) |

Yeah, that's what I mean. I've never tried to do that myself, so I don't know how effective they are, but I know that you can make them. There are versions using other foods, btw, such as onion packs as a remedy for otitis media. That's something I'd probably never try, though, since I personally greatly dislike onions :-) |

Otitis media...inflammation of the...gah, I call myself a medical administrative assistant? Where's my dictionary...*sighs and wiki's it* *self-Gibbs slap* Oh, of course...inflammation of the middle ear. I knew that...(Really, I did know that, but I forgot it. *sigh*) |

You seemed to emphasize *this* year. Is that relevant? Or could it happen any year? Do you dislike potatoes? |

Do you only like them better when it gets colder? So that you'll like them less again in spring and summer? Or is it some sort of continuous process, so that you're also liking them better during next spring and summer, for example? Do you like them better because, for some reason, there will be less of them? Or they're harder to get? Or the people around you are less likely to put them into any meals? Are sorts taken off the market? Are they getting more expensive? Import relevant? |

Because they are cooked at hot temperatures? And the heat from the oven/hot-oil-thingy keeps you warm? |

Is it relevant where the fries are made? Do you like them when they're made in your or someone else's home? Or in a restaurant? In a fast food restaurant? Do you like to carry the boxes of fries that you get in fast food restaurants? Because they keep your hands warm? |

It's the puzzle where the woman writes to her husband who is in a max security prison saying she wants to plant potatoes but isn't physically capable of doing the digging easily and she doesn't have the time anyway. The man writes back "Don't plant potatoes in the garden. That's where I hid the guns". A few days later, the woman writes back "Police came and dug up the garden but didn't find any guns". The man writes back "Now, you can plant the potatoes". |

(it isn't a good job, but hey, I'm in highschool and eventually will go to medschool so it's not like I'm here forever) Anyways, I normally can't stand potatoes. Any variety including french fries. The smell of mashed potatoes make me gag. However, when it is cold inside at work and I have to wear short sleeves, I stand at the fryer every free second and am very thankful that it is there |
