A new series of puzzle, in which you will have to guess the origin of a certain nickname. All these nicknames (or at least most of them) will come from my years of playing baseball with crazy people. And just to really be weird, I will allude to viral videos by how I put my name in the puzzle title. I don't know why, but I will. Anyway, here goes: What was the origin of the nickname "Pablo"? |

... so, this is a nickname given to you, Balin? There are a couple famous ballplayers named Pablo. Relevant? I don't get the viral video thing. How is that "alluding" to one? |

Is the sport of baseball at all relevant? Was it something about the appearance that gave him the nickname? Something related to his behaviour? |

I was thinking that maybe the guy was nicknamed Pablo after a big baseball player (if there is any by that name, lol) as a joke, because he had no interest in baseball whatsover, but all his friends were mad baseball fans. Well, back to the drawing board. If we're concentrating on the nickname-Pablo; anything relevant in how he plays baseball? what he does before? during? or after a game? |

Pablo Martinez? if not please disregard the following... No hitters relevant? Poor old Pablo has been so close to a no hitter several times in his career? Did your team mate almost get a no hitter? Is hitting the batter with a pitch relevant? The aforementioned Senor Martinez has hit a few in his time? |

HINT: You know that "Pablo" is part Hispanic. With that information only, why would Pablo Martinez be closer to the actual "namesake-Pablo" than Pablo Sandoval (assuming you know nothing about either Martinez or Sandoval)? |

Sandoval doesn't look like a Hispanic name? It does to me... Anyway, so is the point that the teammate had a Hispanic-sounding last name, but not a Hispanic-sounding first name? So "Pablo" seemed more appropriate? |

Sandoval doesn't look like a Hispanic name? It does to me... It does, but "Martinez" is a more typical (or stereotypical) Hispanic last name. Anyway, so is the point that the teammate had a Hispanic-sounding last name, but not a Hispanic-sounding first name? True but not the right answer So "Pablo" seemed more appropriate? Noish |

The little video game dude? A good enough description as any. **********SPOILER********** This player had the last name "Sanchez," so we nicknamed him "Pablo," after the character from the Backyard Sports series. Nice solve, everyone; let's see if the next one is as easy. |
