"Hey, I'm not the only one!" - That's what I thought when I heard it in the news. |

I = you? Yes is it relevant how you heard it? TV? radio? word of mouth? No, but I heard it on the radio. relevant how long ago? The only thing that's relevant-ish here is how old I was back then, and even that only is relevant insofar as I'm not sure if I'd now get the same line of thought that easily upon hearing the same kind of news. I was about 10 back then, maybe somewhat older, making it somewhere in the early to mid 90s. the only one something had happened to? Yope who felt a certain way? No |

BLOOPER: The only one...who [...] thought something? Yesish, but not in the I-have-this-opinion-on-that way who felt a certain way? Yesish Other peoples' thoughts, feelings or opinions weren't mentioned in the notification, but I upon hearing it, I thought that there must be people who feel the way I was feeling at that time. This is kind of tricky, though, so be careful :-) |

And another BLOOPER... -_-' It's not relevant for this puzzle, though, but I realized I've just made myself older than I really am. It happened in the mid to late 90s. |

Did the complaint state that: - there is less money than needed? - things are more expensive? - people get paid less? Did your exclamation also concern economy? Is there a misunderstanding involved? Did you mishear anything? |

Did the complaint state that: - there is less money than needed? - things are more expensive? - people get paid less? Hm, to be exact, it was actually more of a bad news than a complaint really. Still no to all, though. Did your exclamation also concern economy? No! Is there a misunderstanding involved? Let's say it was a "deliberate misunderstanding" xD Explore. Did you mishear anything? No |

So, the news were about economy, but your exclamation wasn't. Correct? Did the bad news concern unemployment? Taxes? Import/Export? The role of a certain group in the economy (e.g. women)? Were the news related to a certain person? Did they interview people? |

Did your statement concern unemployment? No Did you say that you weren't the only one without a job? Well, this is close enough... **************** SPOILER **************** One day, I was being really bored when I heard a news item on the radio about the increasing unemployment rate, and it said that so-and-so many people were without occupation. And the very first thing that came to my mind was that since I didn't have anything to pass my time, I was without occupation, too. Btw, while I think it does, I'm not 100% certain if "occupation" really has both the meaning of a job and a pastime. The original German term used in the news was "Beschäftigung" which has those two meanings. The "homo" in the puzzle title is a reference to "homonym". Added the "insapiens" just for kicks. Nice work, everyone! :-) |
