Is Los Angeles relevant? If she had been more attentive, wouldn't you have met in the first place? Did she get somewhere later or earlier than she had planned? Or did she leave later of earlier? Did she go to a wrong place? Did she confuse you or anyone else with someone else? Did she ask you for help/advice? Did you end up helping her, even if she didn't ask you? Do you meet each other more or less regularly in person? Or are you online friends? |

Our new teacher, Nicole, was very inattentive and confused me and Anne. Why did she confuse us? And how did that result in a friendship between Anna and me? |

Did you, for some reason, remind Nicole of someone from her old class / from another class of hers who happened to have the name Anne, too, and she confused you with that Anne? Pretty much all of my teachers in high school were strict about seats. But none are in college. Except the high school substitute teachers weren't because they weren't strict about anything. Once in 11th grade history, our teacher had a sub and the classroom aide also had a sub, and one girl said "Ok, so which one of you do I have to listen to?" |

I have one professor who does mainly because there's 120 people in the lecture and she grades on attendance so it's easier to do that if everyone's in the same seat every day. But all my teachers in high school did, except for a couple. Plus one who said "Sit wherever you want, but stay there for the entire year. and if you're disruptive I'll move you" |

Vice versa? both A little help so that you only have to figure out the last part: I sat in the last row because all the other seats had already been taken when I first came to that class. I didn't know anybody, and I sat down behind Anna. Last aspect: How did Nicole's confusing Anna and me result in our friendship? |

Did you start to make fun of Nicole confusing you two, such as actually responding to the wrong name? Did your classmates start to use the wrong names on you? Did Nicole make you spend part of your free time together for some reason? Or did someone else? Did, starting from your similar names, you start to talk about what other things you might have in common? And it turned out that you had the same hobbies/interests/opinions on something? Is it relevant what part of your names are similar? Do you have the same family names? Or family names that sound very similar? Did you start telling other people that you were sisters? |

Did you start to make fun of Nicole confusing you two, such as actually responding to the wrong name? later on - after we had become friends Did your classmates start to use the wrong names on you? no (well, some did accidentally) Did Nicole make you spend part of your free time together for some reason? no Or did someone else? no Did, starting from your similar names, you start to talk about what other things you might have in common? yesish, this is close, but something happened before that - remember I was new in class And it turned out that you had the same hobbies/interests/opinions on something? yes Is it relevant what part of your names are similar? not really, I can tell you: My name is Lena, hers is Lisa (they're not that similar, are they? And nevertheless five teachers managed to confuse us) Do you have the same family names? no Or family names that sound very similar? no, but both start with an A so that we were next to each other on the list of names. Our initials are L.A., that's where the title comes from Did you start telling other people that you were sisters? no |

If not the teacher, your parents? no, how could you blame my parents for a teacher confusing us?! Now I am confused (; |

...yours? YES! You've found all the relevant information, I'll put it together for you. And here comes our friend, the ********SPOILER******** In grade 7, I was "the new kid" in class. I sat down in the very last row because I didn't know anyone and all the other seats were taken. The girl in front of me was called Lisa, and our inattentive chemistry teacher tended to confuse us. Lisa found this very annoying, and since it's always easy to pick on the new kids, she decided that this was my fault, not the teacher's. One day, she started saying "It's your fault" everytime she saw me, and then I said "No, it's yours" - we both started laughing and ended up talking to eachother. Well, now we're good friends (: Nice work, guys, especially Balin and Kaylee. Thanks for being so patient with this one. |
