a fictional character? Yes in books? Yes films? Yes a computer game? I'm not sure, but irr was the "it" he did a crime? No wa it an action? Yes or making a success of something? No was it something no-one else wanted to do? No-one else did, but even though the reason why they didn't isn't mentioned, I highly doubt that they would've hated the idea of doing it. was it a unique thing? This, because it's something that you can't do much more often than once in a lifetime or something that people do all the time? No or fairly frequently? Yesish to this, because it's something that quite a number of people do |

BLOOPER: Realized that I didn't really answer the question about magic being involved. Magic is relevant in the universe in which the story takes place but it's not relevant for this puzzle. The scenario I'm asking for can take place in RL as well. |

Is he a student at any point in the books? Yes Affiliated with Hogwarts? Just by being a student Part of the Ministry? Yes An Auror? No Did it affect the Wizarding World as a whole? No A certain group in it? Yes And I think I need to do some clarification about the "it"... The HAM actually did three things: By Action 1, the HAM gets on the bad side of certain people. It is also the reason that makes Action 3 being perfomed by him so surprising. By Action 2, the HAM redeems himself. It involves the "helping" mentioned above. Action 3 is something he does afterwards and the thing I'm asking for. Actions 1 and 2 are canonical, but - depending on how you define "canon" - Action 3 isn't. However, I think it's well possible to figure it out by guessing and I'm sure that at least some of the HP fans here actually know about it :-) |

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets? Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix? Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince? Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows? This Molly Weasley? The link takes me to the very top of the page about Percy, so I can't tell which Molly you mean. However, due to the mere fact that there are two Molly Weasleys around (and I assume you mean the one I mean), this puzzle can be considered solved. No you-know-what yet, though. I'm going to post it this evening. Great work, everyone! :-) |

Now, at long last, here's the *************** SPOILER *************** In the the time between "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and "Harry Potter and the Order and the Phoenix" Percy Weasley breaks with his (pro-Potter/pro-Dumbledore) family due to his loyality towards the (at that time anti-Potter/anti-Dumbledore) ministry which he works for. He acts nastily towards all of them, including his mother, Molly. For example, he returns her Christmas present without even having opened it and shuts the door in her face when she came to visit him in his apartment. However, he makes it up with them when he fights on their side during "the Battle of Hogwarts" in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". Some time after "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" was being published, JK Rowling presented the "Weasley Family Tree" which shows the names of the spouses and children of each of the Weasley siblings. According to this, the name of one of Percy's daughter is Molly, apparently named after Percy's mother, which is surprising considering the way he had treated her during the time mentioned above (plus, I feel that troughout the entire series, the other siblings were all in all more affectionate towards her). BTW, I don't know if JKR has ever commented on that, but I believe that Lucy, Percy's other daughter was named after Percy's grandmother. Molly Weasley's maiden name is Prewett and in the "Black Family Tree", there's a Lucretia Black who married an Ignatius Prewett. Considering their birth years and the story timeline, it's well possible that these are Molly's parents (Ignatius is Percy's middle name, too). And Lucretia could've gone by "Lucy". (On a side note, does anyone else find it creepy that, if the dates in the "Black Family Tree" are correct, Pollux Black became a father at the age of 13? oO) |

Loved this puzzle, even if Kaylee swooped the solve. And about Pollux, um kinda creepy - but those pureblood wizarding families are odd to begin with. Most of the pureblood families are ridciulously itnermarried. I just can't see there being a lot of love matches going on and technically there is no problem with Pollux fathering a child at 12 or so. |
