Today she is inside, but they won't take her money. Yesterday she wasn't allowed inside. Tomorrow, she won't be allowed inside. The day after tomorrow, she will be allowed inside again, and they will gladly take her money.

All "she"s the same? Human/Adult/Female? Is the money real money? Or is it from a game (like Monopoly money?) Inside a private building (such as a residence)? A public building (such as an office building, a museum, a theater, a restaurant...)? True story? From your own imagination? From someone else's imagination? |

Is the money taken as to allow her to enter? Relevant that she is a HAF, as opposed to a HAM? Is the building a museum? Is today: Mo? Tue? Wed? Thu? Fri? Sat? Sun? Relevant? Is it relevant the day of the year when this happens? The country? |

Is the money taken as to allow her to enter? No Relevant that she is a HAF, as opposed to a HAM? This exact scenario is somewhat more likely to happen to women than men, but possible for both. Is the building a museum? No Is today: Mo? Tue? Wed? Thu? Fri? Sat? Yes - Saturday Sun? Relevant? Yes Is it relevant the day of the year when this happens? No The country? Yes. Likely in the United States. |

Clarification: Is it relevant the day of the year when this happens? Yes, but it is only relevant to the girl. This could happen on any given Saturday. |

So - Today (Saturday) she is inside, but they won't take her money. Yesterday (Friday) she wasn't allowed inside. Tomorrow (Sunday) she won't be allowed inside. The day after tomorrow (Monday) she will be allowed inside again, and they will gladly take her money. So this place is closed on Fridays and Sundays, but open on Saturdays and Mondays? Are they open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays as well? Do they provide a service? Is it free on Saturdays, but you must pay the rest of the days they are open? |

Is she the daughter/sister/wife of the projectionist or the theater manager? Or, if this is not a theater, can she usually get into a tourist garden, a Sea World, a zoo, or that sort of place? Is she known to the people who collect money and disburse tickets? Was she angry about the proceedings? Did she accept it as normal? Is she blind and using a guide dog, and the rules weren't clear about "pets entering"? |

Hang fire. Your title is "What Day is It?" So should we focus on daily rituals, rather than wonder who "she" is? |

is the place a bank? a bar? is it her birthday today? so that's why she wasn't allowed inside - she was underage for something? and tomorrow's Sunday so the place will be closed? so today they won't take her money because... is the money in the story the same currency throughout? is the place actually open today but not serving/selling things? was yesterday a public holiday? if so, maybe her birthday is tomorrow and that's why they can't take her money today? |

Won't take her money: Is she trying to buy something specific? Do they have the item/service? Would they let her in and take her money Monday if she had not been there on Saturday? Is she the only person not let in on Friday? How about on Sunday? |

My guess: - yesterday she was not allowed because she was not yet 18 - today is her 18th birthday, she is allowed to go in and even for free - tomorrow is closed - from the day after tomorrow she will have to pay the regular prize Is this any close? |

Yes, you guys have essentially guessed it, so here is my explanation: ************************* Spoiler ************************ Today is Saturday, and also the woman's 21st birthday. So she is in a bar, a place she wasn't allowed to enter yesterday. Because it is her birthday, she receives free drinks (they won't take her money). Tomorrow is Sunday, and the bar is closed. In some places in the U.S. it is against the law to sell alcohol on a Sunday (religious reasons). On Monday, she will be allowed back in the bar and they will be happy to take her money. |
