I assume it's a verb. Is it a word in a language that is not English? Yiddish? Should I suggest other language-based possibilities? (It is a word you made up? Or NOT?) Is it a word made up of parts, such as, um, get-together? Does it mean something peaceful, resting? Or something involving other people? Eating? Talking? Observing? Fun; I love word puzzles! |

I assume it's a verb. Correct. Is it a word in a language that is not English? Not intentionally. Yiddish? Should I suggest other language-based possibilities? No to all. (It is a word you made up? Or NOT?) I made it up. Is it a word made up of parts, such as, um, get-together? Irr. Does it mean something peaceful, resting? No. Or something involving other people? No. Eating? Talking? No to both. Observing? Observing is involved. Fun; I love word puzzles! : ) |

A toddler can't do it - does it involve a certain amount of education, even if minimal? Reading? doing something (other than intended) on the computer? |

Does this have anything to do with time - the passage of, or the noting of the passage of time? In other words, consulting your watch/clock, without being aware that you are doing so? |

Does this have anything to do with time - the passage of, or the noting of the passage of time? Indeed. In other words, consulting your watch/clock, without being aware that you are doing so? Very close! |

Automatically looking at your wrist whenever someone asks you the time, even if you're not wearing a watch? |

Or maybe looking at your "blank" wrist during a long-winded conversation and saying "Oh, look at the time, I've got to go"? |

Constantly looking at your watch, and then not being able to give the time an instant later, when somebody asks you? I never do this, because I don't wear a watch, but my husband does it _all the time_. Of course, it annoys him that I ask him the time _all the time_. |

SPOILER Falattah is a word inspired by the acronym 'lattaf' - looking at the time and forgetting'. I don't wear a wristwatch, but use my phone. Too often I find that after taking it out of my pocket to se what time it is, I need to take it out again because I forgot to consciously register what I saw. Thanks for playing! |
