My wife and I, in our little place Thought that we could be all alone. It's small, I know, but a bijou space, And in a rather pricey zone. I don't mind Jim, we're kin to him, But who in Hell is this other one? As usual, q's may be in prose or verse. |

Is this a story true in fact, Or from Soli's 'magination hatched? Or has some other mind grown the seed of this puzzle, whose name we need? Now, Soli's a female, I'm quite sure of that, So the 'I' prolly isn't dear Soli-cat? Is the speaker H/A/M? The place on Earth? If so, what continent would it be worth Our while to check? America North or South? If not, Might Africa or Asia Be the hot spot? Europe perhaps? Oceania? (Australia, NZ and so on) Or did the Antarctic (with penguins) This puzzle spawn? Hell is in Norway, Did you know that? Is't at all relevant, Dear Soli-cat? Is Jim a father to 'I' Or a brother? To 'wife' The same q's: or is kinship other? |

Is this a story true in fact, Or from Soli's 'magination hatched? Or has some other mind grown the seed of this puzzle, whose name we need? I can assure you It is something real and true. Now, Soli's a female, I'm quite sure of that, So the 'I' prolly isn't dear Soli-cat? Is the speaker H/A/M? Yes an HAM is our speaker, Though the verse grows weaker & weaker. The place on Earth? If so, what continent would it be worth Our while to check? America North or South? If not, Might Africa or Asia Be the hot spot? Europe perhaps? Oceania? (Australia, NZ and so on) Or did the Antarctic (with penguins) This puzzle spawn? Europe's the one, to make a choice. Kaylee, good to hear your voice. Hell is in Norway, Did you know that? Is't at all relevant, Dear Soli-cat? And there's a Hell in Michigan Neither a part of my puzzle plan. Is Jim a father to 'I' Or a brother? To 'wife' The same q's: or is kinship other? Very much other, sorry to say. The kinship is much further away. |

Is Jim a human? An animal? A dog or so - Treated as a part of family, though? This question of course may be well Asked for the "other one" from Hell. |

One of the history's great debates is whether or not we descend from apes, Could this definition of kin be according to Charles Darwin? In this place of european climate by any chance is Jim a Primate? By hell do you mean the the hot place below where horrible nasty people go? One more thing I wanted to check could you have swapped hell for heck? To avoid lots of European countries being missed can I invoke the LTPF List? |

A cousin then? An uncle, maybe? Or your aunt's mother's nephew's baby? None of these, but yet, you see Clearly on the family tree. Is Jim a human? An animal? A dog or so - Treated as a part of family, though? This question of course may be well Asked for the "other one" from Hell. Jim is human, through & through, So's the other, I tell you true. And both adult and male, as well - Jim and the chap from hell. One of the history's great debates is whether or not we descend from apes, Could this definition of kin be according to Charles Darwin? In this place of european climate by any chance is Jim a Primate? Look above, do not wait. In this puzzle is no primate. By hell do you mean the the hot place below where horrible nasty people go? Not getting into matters theological Let's say it's more geological. One more thing I wanted to check could you have swapped hell for heck? Oh, yes, it would work that way, But 'hell' is better for my play. Sheol, hades, what you will; We've lots of time to kill. To avoid lots of European countries being missed can I invoke the LTPF List? It's the land of the Saxons and Angles. England, to save you all those tangles. |

Emgland, you say specifically? Not another spot in UK? For there is Scotland, part of GB And Wales (though the dragon's lost, I see Or rather don't, on the coat of arms - that did one of my puzzles a bit of harm) Then completing the UK is N. Ireland, The rest's a republic - have I sunk you in quicksand? |

Now that I revisit this puzzle, I noticed I said "Emgland"...what a muddle. Obviously you knew what I meant, So this post's not well spent. I just hope you'll answer my q's, if you can Or is that not in your plan? =( |

Your old friend Soli is no more. Alas, alack, and what a bore. But I'm her atavar or clone Treat my puzzles as her own I had computer problems which resulted in losing my lateral puzzle password. Peter tried to help me out, but unfortunately I had still more computer troubles, followed by visitors from out of town, and other personal and business crises. All that seems to be ironed out now, except that I can stay on the Internet for only 1/2 an hour to 1 hour at a time. Maybe it's trying to tell me something?. Anyway, I do want to get back into the swing of things. Will finish this at next sitting |

hrm...we iz not covured time period, noez? So not the Windsors, then, you say. But other royals? Here, today? If not, are they British, but historical? Would they consider marrying Catholics ethical? Are these non-Windsors surnamed 'Mountbatten'? Are they descended from HRH Princess Margaret, Countess Snowdon? Or yet from a cousin of Her Majesty? Gloucester, Kent? Lord and Lady Ogilvy? Perhaps the Countess of Harewood's line? (Tell me, my Soli, if I haven't done fine) Should I go back further than George V? Perhaps these are foreign cousins, descended from Queen Vicky? Or in between, there's Edward no. 7. (Eight, you know, abdicated, no children.) Edward VII's issue, then, let's take a look: The Duke of Clarence died young, put George V on the track Of becoming King; then there was the Duchess of Fife, HRH Princess Victoria (should I get a life?) Queen Maud of Norway next in the line, And little Alexander John, who did not do fine. (The newborn died a day after birth - seems the name John in royal matters hasn't much worth. :-( Poor Johnnie, his nephew, next to him lies, but then my first Versponse was all about *his* tragic demise.) |

So these are not Windsors, nor Hanoverian blood. Would they be Stuarts, or Tudors? Further, should I look to the Wars of the Roses, dear Soli Kitteh? If so, would red or white roses be pretty? Side note: Why teh limbo-ed puzzel, Soli-cat? Just acos yuo iz cloned, puzzel shuld nawt lose liek dat. |

To Stuarts yessish, to Tudors also WOTR also yes and no. Say "rose both red and white," And you have it in your sight. Side note: Why teh limbo-ed puzzel, Soli-cat? Soli, when was still just Soli-cat, said: "My wife and I, in our little place Thought that we could be all alone. It's small, I know, but a bijou space, And in a rather pricey zone. I don't mind Jim, we're kin to him, But who in Hell is this other one?" Soli-clone has now said: To Stuarts yessish, to Tudors also WOTR also yes and no. Say "rose both red and white," And you have it in your sight. So Kaylee kitteh says: The red/white rose is Tudor indeed, From House of Lancaster red was the seed, From Yorkists came white, and Henry Seven Married Elizabeth of York - peace was given! Yesish to Tudors? Might that imply "The Tudors" the show? History, fie! Their 'Marygret' is laughable, altho' I admit They *can* indeed be historic'ly accurate. Do you then mean the joining of houses? Henry Eight's sister Margaret allowed that By marrying their King, James the IV James Fifth was the father of Mary Stuart, you see. Is any James relevant? Mary's son, you know? Elizabeth I's heir, Sixth and First...what a muddle, this is... Though I've no doubt Soli'll sort this next go, And tell me any near misses. |

The red/white rose is Tudor indeed, From House of Lancaster red was the seed, From Yorkists came white, and Henry Seven Married Elizabeth of York - peace was given! Here you're on the right track. Go forward and not back. Yesish to Tudors? Might that imply "The Tudors" the show? History, fie! Their 'Marygret' is laughable, altho' I admit They *can* indeed be historic'ly accurate. No work of fiction is involved. Come on, puzzle's almost solved. What we know; Not Henry 8th but his Pap And something that is on the map. Something that's in London town Something that's of some renown; Something that takes up space. Yes, James Stuart, His Scots Grace, Is there, but don't be misled. Mull this over in your head. |

O Soli-cat! Your kaylee kitteh (Whose twisted ankle does not look pretty :-( ) Haz had, yuo knoez, an insparashun! Of this London-y location! Kaylee, sorry about your injured shin. Hope you'll soon be in fighting trim. Could it be teh Scotland Yard??? Where constable-y kittehz is prefured? (My Emma kitteh iz constable speshul! I should ask hur abowt dis puzzel!) Scotland yard it is not, Though the puzzle involves a Scot. But there's no 'Scoland' in the name. Remember, the speaker's a man of fame. A "Special Constable" is a volunteer police officer, Soli kitteh! Emma is very most awesome like that, working for the Cornwall and Devon Constabulary. Although right now she is staying with me, but when she goes home she will still have her volunteer job!!! Turn to her and say, "Emma, Try your skills on this dilemma." I iz wundrin, Soli kitteh, Cause iz confuseded, you see, Kaylee kitteh thinkz perhapz Soli kitteh can givez recat? Not a recat, but a clue. Speaker is Henry #7, not 8 Not 4 or 5 or 1 or 2. After 500 years to wait. ...Sheesh, I'm telling you the **********SPOILER********* (You got most of it, and I can't give more clues without giving it anyway.) Henry the 7th I am, I am Never a Freddy or a Sam. Here I am at eternal rest Lying in the Abbey at West- minster, five centuries past This was much too good to last. Back when Victoria was Queen Shovels were used, and bones were seen: Mine, and my wife's, Elizabeth fair, Great-grandson Stuart lies over there. And yonder is a man unknown But thought to be one of Cromwell's own. I'm telling you - now mark it well, The neighborhood's all shot to Hell. |
