Would it also have been a disaster if it had been a different time of day? If it hadn't been cold? Any of these relevant? Snow Ice People slipping on the ice People trapped in lakes etc. due to breaking through ice on their surface Freezing Warm clothing Warm drinks Warm food Was it a disaster because ...somebody died? ...somebody was injured? ...somebody's feelings were hurt? ...somebody lost something? ...something was damaged or destroyed? ...somebody ridiculed himself? Was the disaster induced by "him"? By the person he wanted to help? By the predicament the person was in? By another person? By the weather? |

So it was a disaster because the object was damaged, right? Is it to be considered a disaster because the object was expensive? Because it is hard to obtain? Because it had a special meaning for anyone? Because it was vital in the situation Jack and Carol were in? Did it contain any dangerous substance that was now set free? High voltage relevant? Did the damaging of the object induce any kind of chain reaction? |

Did Jack want to help Carol using the computer? Repairing the computer? Setting up the computer? Using a specific application? If any of these, was he competent in doing so? Were they indoors? Outdoors? Using a laptop? You said that snow/ice was relevant. Was the relevant snow/ice indoors? Outdoors? Did snow/ice get in or on the computer? Was the computer open (that is, you can see the mainboard and stuff) at any point? Did either of them something for warming themselves that is relevant, such as a hot drink or a hot-water bottle? When water becomes solid in the cold, it is frozen and when a computer stops reacting to input, it is also called frozen. Is that relevant? Has there been any misunderstanding between Carol and Jack on that? |

He texted back 'Pour on some warm water.' A little while later he received the reply, 'Computer completely dead now.' |
