Was the text on the internet?

Were you on the road yourself when you read it?

Was the text a text message? If you weren't on the road when you read the text, did you relevantly start driving afterwards?

Was the thing you did something that could cause immediate danger for you? Danger (pardon the pun) down the road?

Was the text on a sign? Did you intend for the thing to reduce your safety? We're your risk of getting involved in a road accident increased? Relevant where the accident was in relation to yourself? Did you help out in the aftermath of the accident? Did you fear that someone close to you was involved?

Was the text a text message? No. If you weren't on the road when you read the text, did you relevantly start driving afterwards? No.

Was the thing you did something that could cause immediate danger for you? No. Danger (pardon the pun) down the road? It would not cause any direct danger, just make me less safe.

GalFisk:

Was the text on a sign? No. Did you intend for the thing to reduce your safety? No, it is a side effect. We're your risk of getting involved in a road accident increased? Yes. Relevant where the accident was in relation to yourself? No. Did you help out in the aftermath of the accident? No. Did you fear that someone close to you was involved? No.

Were you walking at the time? Were you outside?
Did you read it on a computer? On your phone?
Was your safety at the time diminished? Or did you do something right then that would make you less safe later on?
Did it increase the risk of being hit by a car as a pedestrian?

Did the thing you did relevantly affect your: time spent in traffic? Route taken? Visibility? Speed of movement? Mode of transport? Traction on the road surface? Alertness while in traffic? Specific sources of distraction while in traffic? Specific sources of danger? Are the actions of other people relevant, apart from being part of traffic in general?

Are noise cancelling headphones relevant?

Was the thing you did purchase headphones?

Does it matter which accident you were reading about? Was it a famous one? One which caused certain injuries/fatalities? Is something else specific about the accident relevant?

If you hadn't read the text, would you have used the headphones? Would you have used them if you read a text not about accidents?

Did you do something that would increase your risk of getting hit but decrease the potential for serious injury/death in that event?

Did the thing you did have the result of you being more alert in traffic? Less alert?

Did the accident you read about involve a pedestrian? Were headphones pertinent in it? Daytime/night-time relevant? Does it matter what types of vehicles were involved? The age of the people involved? Speeding? DUI? Did someone die? If they were merely injured, did they incur a specific relevant injury?
