Bag: plastic? Paper? Fabric? Shopping bag? From inside the house? Outside? Was the taking of the bag a crime? Was he arrested solely for taking this bag? Did taking the bag make him the suspect of another crime? Had he actually done anything wrong, apart from taking the bag? Was he arrested on false premises? Did he intend to get arrested? Did the neighbor know he took the bag? Accuse him of taking the bag? Was the man framed? Did the man try to frame someone? To obstruct justice? To mislead someone?

Was the bag a trash bag? Did he use it to kill? Is robbery also involved?

Was it a grocery sack? A fast food bag? Did he use the bag for anything other a bag's usual purpose of containing things?

Did he want what was in the bag? Did he know what was in the bag? Did he think something else was in the bag? Was anything in the bag at all?

If he had left the bag, would it have been less likely that he would have been caught? Is the bag's absence what leads to the arrest? Or the bag's presence elsewhere?

Was it a ziploc bag or something similar?

Is the method of murder relevant?
The motive?

Did the bag have a relevant smell that attracted a dog or other animal?

Did he give the bag to the neighbor? Perhaps put poisoned food into it?

Does he enter the neighbor's house while the bag is still full of food? When he murders the neighbor, is the bag still full of food? Does he himself empty the bag? Before the murder? After? Is it relevant what type of food? Is it frozen food? Refrigerated? Pantry food?

Does he use the bag as a means to not leave fingerprints?

Does he stab the neighbor? Shoot him? Strangle him? Suffocate him? Poison him? Hit him over the head?

I was just trying to find a way to say "food that doesn't need to be temperature controlled". Is it human food? Or animal food? Is it a vegetable? Fruit? Grain? Snack? Dessert?

Does he use the food for something? Or does he just need the bag? Does he put the knife in the bag? Or is it empty when he takes it?

I was just trying to find a way to say "food that doesn't need to be temperature controlled". In that case, the answer is Yes.
Is it human food? This Or animal food?
Is it a vegetable? Fruit? Grain? This Snack? Dessert?

Does he use the food for something? No Or does he just need the bag? Yes
Does he put the knife in the bag? Yes Or is it empty when he takes it? So no

Does he do anything relevant with the food or just get rid of it? Is it bread? Cereal? Rice? Oatmeal? Chips? Crackers?

Is there something relevantly helpful about this particular food's bag that sets it apart from other plastic bags? Size? Durability? Or would other types of plastic bags work?

So the timeline is something like: enters house?
Stabs neighbor with knife? (Is it relevant whose knife it is?)
Finds bag?
Empties bag?
Puts knife in bag?
Does something else here? Or just leaves?
Does he do anything relevant before killing her?

Does he do anything relevant with the food or just get rid of it? Well, it is relevant how he gets rid of it Is it bread? This; specifically, it is hamburger buns Cereal? Rice? Oatmeal? Chips? Crackers?

Is there something relevantly helpful about this particular food's bag that sets it apart from other plastic bags? Not particularly Size? Durability? Or would other types of plastic bags work? They would have worked, and it would have been less likely he would have been caught!

So the timeline is something like: enters house?
Stabs neighbor with knife? (Is it relevant whose knife it is?) I think it was the neighbor's knife, but irrel.
Finds bag?
Empties bag?
Puts knife in bag?
Does something else here? Or just leaves? That's pretty much correct, actually
Does he do anything relevant before killing her? No. There was a struggle, but it's not relevant to the puzzle.

HINT: Examine this question and answer, along with the timeline. And remember that the type of food (hamburger buns) is relevant.

If he had just put the bread in the place where he did, then put the bag back without taking it or putting the knife in it, would it still have led to his arrest? Do they test the bread for DNA or something? Does it matter where he puts it specifically? Or more how he puts it there (e.g. with his bare hands)?

Was the bread concealed somewhere? No Was it in plain sight? Yes relevant? Yes

Does the bread itself now contain whatever info was needed to apprehend him? Yes If so, his tissue or blood? No His fingerprint? OTRT... His shoe-print? ...close enough. His toe print.

****SPOILER****

Carlos Robinson stabbed his neighbor to death in her bathroom, then emptied a bag of hamburger buns onto the bathroom floor in order to carry out the knife in the bag to prevent leaving a trail of blood. But he stepped on one of the soft buns and left his toe print in the bun, and that was the evidence that convicted him.

Once again, I got this from an episode of Forensic Files. Will my new puzzle be from yet another episode? Find out by asking questions!
