[LemonCurry] A variety of ignorance

PostPosted: Thu Apr 06, 2017 6:34 am
by LemonCurry
Robert and Anne are talking to Julia, hinting that they are not interested in a certain topic. They are very happy.
Julia responds, hinting that she does not know much about that certain topic.
Robert and Anne are very angry and frustrated.

This is much closer to a true story than I would like. Robert is me in disguise, Anne and Julia are HAF.

Are Robert and Anne angry and frustrated with Julia? With themselves? With each other? EDIT: With someone else?

Did Robert and Anne assume that Julia would know much about the topic in question? If so, because of something Julia said? did? because of what she looked like?

Do Robert and Anne know each other? If so, are they in a relationship? married? friends? family? co-workers? acquaintances?
Does Julia know Robert? If so, same questions as above.
Does Julia know Anne? If so, same questions as above.

Ok, so let me see if I have the correct timeline.

1. R&A go to a restaurant where they want to eat.
Relevant why they chose this restaurant?
2. They talk to Julia and hint that they are not interested in a certain topic.
3. They give Julia their e-mail address.
4. Julia sends them an e-mail, hinting that she does not know much about the topic.
Had she promised them that she would do research on the topic?
5. R&A are angry and frustrated with Julia.

I assume it's relevant why they are very happy, yes? Is it because of their relationship? Is it a new relationship? Are they engaged? Are they happy because of what they are discussing with the innkeeper?

Is their initial conversation with the innkeeper just a friendly conversation? Business-related? Are they trying to hire her for something? Or hire the restaurant? For something wedding-related?

Anything to do with gay marriage?

Do they think they are eligible for an offer for which they are in fact ineligible? Were they under the impression that Julia was familiar with a relevant element of a wedding, when she was not? Was there any unnoticed sarcasm or humor in their conversation (perhaps one side took the other seriously when the latter was joking, or vice versa)?

After the email, are they angry because: they received an email at all? They received an email about the reception? Because of when they received it? Because the price is too high? Because the services aren't what they were looking for? Because it shows that they weren't listened to? Because it was otherwise offensive in some way?
