(Jenny) Mystery Club: Entry [Lateral Adventure]

Postby Jenny » Tue Aug 15, 2017 5:14 pm

Well, I decided to try my hand at one of those.

You are interested in joining the mystery club. You meet the club president, Cathleen o'Neill. She tells you that if you want to join you have to pass the tests made my her and four clubbies: Margaret, Bobby, Luke and Sophia. Each one has a room labeled by their name. Each room contains the clue as to what their favorite thing to watch is. You have to figure out which things each of them likes to watch the most based on the clues inside their rooms. Only when you figure this out will you become eligible to be a clubbie.

Begin.

Hi jenny!
To be sure...here I can ask yes/no questions and give instructions right?

So can you recognize the temple? For instance is it a pyramid? Mayan temple? Are the baubles strewn randomly on the table? Or are they carefully positioned? Are the baubles relevantly near the temple? Is there something written on them? Do the baubles look precious?

Can you touch the baubles? Open them? Is there sonething inside the temple? Can the temple be inserted sonewhere like a key?

Do you hear something?
Look around and search something else useful.
Turn the light off. Do something relevant happen? If not, turn the light on again.

So please, ask Margaret which type of temple is it. "Not the type you know from history." Margaret says

Search inside the temple. What do you see? The inside couldn't be seen, and no one could enter

Please search with your hand/finger inside the temple. Have you found something?

Temple = place where people of a whatever religion gather to venerate a God/more gods? Is it connected with religion? Is it a symbol for something? Is it relevant that the temple is triangular? Is it relevant which material characterizes the temple?

Are the baubles connected with the temple somehow? Are them diamonds? pearls? Are them connected with sea? With shopping?

Some of them are." Margaret says "My name also means 'pearl' --> so Margaret, do other colored baubles represent flowers? If so, pearl and flower are two meanings of your name...if my hypotheses are true I would expect that you like to see your image in the mirror maybe?

If not are also the other baubles which are not pearls connected with your name? If so are them linked with the temple in connection with your name? With the name of someone else? Maybe your children, your husband?
Are them precious as well?

Is the word "temple" relevant? Does it represent a place? A person? A book? A saying? A pyramid? A movie? Something like a game? A building of a game? A fictional place?

No If so, pearl and flower are two meanings of your name...if my hypotheses are true I would expect that you like to see your image in the mirror maybe? "You are wrong." so a fictional place in a movie? in a series?

Other baubles are connected to a pearl in a different way--> to a single pearl? A pearl like those on the table? A greater one? Is the Black Pearl involved? christmas baubles? Earring? Are them jewels?

Baubles (of both types) are connected to the temple because of the fictional place represented by the temple? Because those baubles can be found in that temple?

Although not Japanese, could the series be classified as an anime?

You said "recent, but not that recent." Game of Thrones started in 2011. So this series started in 2010 or '11, correct?

Are there three types of baubles? Five or more? More than ten?
Ask Margaret if the temple only related to a location on the show, or if also symbolizes a plot or character. Ask if the pearls' relation to her name means the show also has a character named Margaret.
Is the show aimed at children or adults?

Are any of the classical elements involved here? (Earth, Wind, Fire, Water?)

Was there a live action movie based on the series?

Do any of the characters have magical powers?

Can you count the baubles, please? Is it possible to put any of them into the temple?

Let's hit up Luke's room.

There is a museum-esque statue of a male with one natural arm and one cybernetic arm. There is a plaque underneath it which reads 'my [x] was badass'

"This one should be easy for you people." Luke comments

I wish I had read this thread sooner; SU sprung to mind as soon as I read about the diamonds and pearls, and the other answers just solidified my suspicions.

Are there any other robotic parts on the statue? Is it dressed any particular way? Is it Ash from 'Evil Dead'?
So the words on the plaque are written like that, in all lower case? Is that important? Is that a quotation by the person the statue's of? Does the 'x' stand in for Luke's favorite thing to watch?
Is this from another cartoon? TV show?

Are there any other robotic parts on the statue? No Is it dressed any particular way? Yes Is it Ash from 'Evil Dead'? No
So the words on the plaque are written like that, in all lower case? Yes Is that important? No Is that a quotation by the person the statue's of? No Does the 'x' stand in for Luke's favorite thing to watch? "No, it stands for one of the main characters, or rather a description of something they share with me." Luke says
Is this from another cartoon? TV show? It could be considered a TV show, but it is actually a series of movies

(All of the things featured is something I myself have watched in some capacity)
