A man pulls a switch too early, but a few seconds later, he is glad he did. What's going on?

Is it an electric switch? Rail switch? A switched witch watching tree Swiss Swatch watches? Is it pulled to activate something? Deactivate something?

Is it pulled to activate something? Deactivate something? This, see above

Did he turn off: music? Noise? An alarm? A TV? Radio? Other receiver? Did he turn off an actual sound? Or the possibility of there being a sound? Like turning off an alarm system that is not sounding any alarms? Was he glad because silence turned out to be a good thing at the moment? Was he a criminal? Did others hear the sound, if there was any?

Did he cause the death of a hated circus rival? Perhaps one with responsibilities including blindfolded tightrope-walking?

trying to avoid to repeat questions...
to be sure...did he expect that the sound stopped as soon as he pulled the switch? If not, he hoped it?

Did he want to avoid something to happen? That someone hear the sound? Was he the only one who could pull the switch in that moment?
Later and early refer to the sound? To someone arriving? To something happening? Was the sound connected to a relevant activity? (e.g. a game...I'm thinking of that game with chairs...) Do "early" and "later" refer to the same deed? Or two different deeds? (e.g. too early because the program was not finished but a few seconds later because he did not notice his son who was going to hug him and fall)
too early = can we suppose that the sound has a logic (a beginning and an end and it makes a sense...e.g. the voice of someone who was giving a speech?, a registered sound?) and it was not a simple noise? If so, too early means that the logic of the sound was interrupted at a relevant point?

Was the sound somehow published (e.g. a CD, a DVD...)? Could it be heard whenever someone wanted to? Is the sound per se relevant?

Was him outside? Inside? Was it part of a performance? Relevant his profession?

Too early = before the music reach its "natural" end? Few seconds later = too late with respect to some words told in the song?
Was the song a famous song? Played by a famous group? Relevant who played it? Was it a special occasion? E.g. a wedding? A proposal?

Is it relevant the reason why he switched the music off too early? I mean...he was glad after he did it right?...does it mean that he switched off the music maybe because he was bored, but then, the fact that he switched it off produced an unexpected benefit? Or did he switched off the music for a particular reason?

The fact that he switched off the music avoid that he/he and others is discovered? Was he hiding?...was it dangerous to make noise in that circumstances? (E.g. nazi who were searching jews...)

Were others present at the time the music was being heard? Relevant how many others were present?
Was this a place where people gathered intentionally for a common purpose (like a church or school)? Or a place that is always populated but more due to the fact that it's used for a specific reason regularly (like an airport, grocery store, city park)?
Was the music being used for entertainment?
Were the people at the location expecting to hear certain songs or types of music played? Or were they not expecting to hear music?
Was the man prompted to flip the switch because of something he saw? Something he realized? Thought about? Something he was told?
When the sound ended, did the following silence continue for several seconds? Minutes?
Did the music resume after a period of time?
Did the other people in the vicinity realize why the music stopped? Did they want it to continue?

did he switch off the music as soon as he heard something? See something?

to be sure...was it a deconsecrated church? was it a normal church? Relevant if chaotic? Protestant? Was the church full of people? Full of believers?
Was there a special event in the church? A marriage? A funeral? Christmas? Easter?
was there a mass? A religious service? was there a priest celebrating a mass? was it in war time?

too early and later refer to phases of a religious event? Of a mass? Is it relevant the echo in churches?
Was its sound system to accompany a choir? other singers? Music instruments? Relevant?
When he switched off the music was there need of silence?

did he switch off the music as soon as he heard something? See something? Both, but mainly "heard"

to be sure...was it a deconsecrated church? I don't know what this means was it a normal church? Yes
Relevant if chaotic? I assume you meant "Catholic"; this has now become my favorite typo ever Protestant? This, and not really relevant
Was the church full of people? Full of believers? Yes to both
Was there a special event in the church? Not like any of your examples. It was a worship night, set aside for just singing A marriage? A funeral? Christmas? Easter?
was there a mass? A religious service? was there a priest celebrating a mass? See above
was it in war time? No

too early and later refer to phases of a religious event? No Of a mass? No Is it relevant the echo in churches? No
Was its sound system to accompany a choir? other singers? Music instruments? None of these Relevant? Somewhat, yes
When he switched off the music was there need of silence? No, but not a bad guess.

I'll clear out some of the extraneous bits: The sound system was playing music before the start of the worship event as people were entering the church. The music was meant to be turned off just before the worship band started playing.

this has now become my favorite typo ever ahahahahahahahah...well I thank the fantasy of my automatic corrector ;)

ok so too early = not just before but minutes before the band began to play right?
Was the sound he heard misunderstood by him? (like he thought to have heard a music instrument playing?)
What he heard = music? a voice?
