[Balin] Two solutions

Postby Balin » Wed Dec 06, 2017 3:09 pm

"You never know. Maybe they are modernizing the story," my sister suggested to me. Why?

My sister = H/A/F
Me = H/A/M
(obviously)

They = writers? Productors? Film makers? Movie makers?

Modernizing = reinterpreting the story in a modern key? Add something to the story? Write the story online? Trying to catch some suggestions online for the story? (E.g. like in pottermore) modernizing the story implies modify the story or modify the way the story is told/read/comunicated?
Did they modify the story in a certain manner and you were wondering the reason why they have modified it in such a way?

Story = a fantasy story? A well known story? A story which could be read in a book? Seen on a television? A story with a beginning and an end? A story which is not yet ended? A story not yet begun? A story which was transposed into a tv series and you were wondering why the series which should have begun at a certain time, was late?Is it a legend? A non-written story?

Would they like to end up with a similar story?

Does the title mean that there are two different solutions to this puzzle, and you want us to find both of them? If so, will you answer in different colors for the two solutions like how it's been done in the past?

They = writers? Productors? Film makers? Movie makers? Yes to all

Modernizing = reinterpreting the story in a modern key? Yes Add something to the story? Yes Write the story online? No Trying to catch some suggestions online for the story? No (E.g. like in pottermore)
No modernizing the story implies modify the story or modify the way the story is told/read/comunicated? The former
Did they modify the story in a certain manner No and you were wondering the reason why they have modified it in such a way? No

Story = a fantasy story? No A well known story? Yes, I'd say so A story which could be read in a book? Yes Seen on a television? It has previously been adapted for television, Yes A story with a beginning and an end? Yes A story which is not yet ended? No A story not yet begun? No A story which was transposed into a tv series and you were wondering why the series which should have begun at a certain time, was late? No Is it a legend? No A non-written story? No

Would they like to end up with a similar story? Depending on what you mean by "similar"

Does the title mean that there are two different solutions to this puzzle, and you want us to find both of them? Not in this case. The title has a lateral relation to the puzzle If so, will you answer in different colors for the two solutions like how it's been done in the past? If there were two solutions I would, but there aren't

element of possible modernization is related to the story being told? A cartoon? A war story? A story which had been remade? If so was the original movie of list of years between 1930 to 2000?

At the moment when your sister made the suggestion was the movie been already in cinemas/DVDs? Or have you read something about a possible modification which would have been made in the movie which had not been already distributed in cinemas? If the latter, is it a modification in the plot of the story? In the setting? In a particular scene? In the entire movie? In a character? In the clothing of characters? Dialogues?

Sent you an educated guess via PM. No, but you're very close when it comes to the movie

element of possible modernization is related to the story being told? No A cartoon? No A war story? No A story which had been remade? Yope - the original story has been previously adapted to film (and stage, and television, and radio...) If so was the original movie of list of years between 1930 to 2000? The first movie adaptation was in the 1970s

At the moment when your sister made the suggestion was the movie been already in cinemas/DVDs? No Or have you read something about a possible modification which would have been made in the movie which had not been already distributed in cinemas? No
If the latter, is it a modification in the plot of the story? In the setting? In a particular scene? In the entire movie? In a character? In the clothing of characters? Dialogues? None of these, but clothing is relevant

was the story set in the future (so the future for 1970s) which is obsolete for the new adaptation of the story?
Is the new adaptation a continuation (the prequel or the sequel) of the movie of the '70s or a remake of the same movie?

clothing = costumes? masks? normal clothing for the '70s? Movie = Star wars (modern version = Disney one?)? The Godfather?

Is the origin of this story to be in found in the texts or teachings of one of the religions of the world? Is the original story a work of fiction? Is it from the 20th century? 19th? 18th? 17th? 16th? Is it Shakespearean? Is it a fable? A fairy tale? Was it originally a novel? A story published episodically? A poem?

Is a technology for visualizing the movie introduced (e.g. 3D, full Hd?...) special effects relevant? Something appearing inside the movie?

Well I confess to be ignorant in nocel's subject...so Balin I let you decide whether the list of 1970s novels is valid for the puzzle or not...

Is it the hobbit? (Cartoon in 1970 and remake in 2016?) Mary Poppins? Something involving Oz world? Tarzan?

Have you seen an advertisment of the movie? A billboard? Did suggestion of your sister start from a previous statement of yours? If so about clothing of characters? About dialogues you've heard? Did you/others consider the clothing "modern" in the sense that they were more modern than the plot of the story would have suggested? Clothing = clothes of actprs? Clothes of actors in general? Some details like swatch? Clocks? The style/code of dressing? Clothes for certain occasions?

Could the element of modernization be considered a "mistake"?
