Being caged? Being transported? This.Riding in a car? and this.Being at the doctors office or hospital? I've been to the vet with our cat, but the only things she actively dislikes is going by car or being forced to swallow something.
*******************SPOILER******************
Phillip (the younger boy), when he sensed that the family was getting ready to go on a trip, would go and hide, cat-like.
Both are grown-up now, with families of their own, but they are still much like that. Mike (the elder) still likes to go-go-go, and spends much of his spare time at car shows/races and tinkering with vehicles. Phil, on the other hand, is a homebody.
The girl, Cindy, was indifferent - going or staying were both fine with her.
Gloria says Phil always had an affinity with cats. When he was just crawling around, he was playing in the front yard one day, while his mother and aunt and the family cat sat on the porch. When he started crawling toward the street, the cat sat up and pricked up her ears. Gloria and her sister waited to see what would happen. When he got too close to the road to suit her, the cat went out and stood in front of him and waved her tail in his face. He grabbed the tail (she wouldn't allow anyone else that liberty), and she guided him back to the porch.
As a cat person myself, I just had to get that story in!
