This one will go very quickly I think, something similar has probably been done before. Based off a very short story I read earlier.

Jim died because Michelle spoke to Andrea.

Jim = HAM, Michelle and Andrea = HAF?

Would Jim have died if Michelle spoke to someone else? If someone else spoke to Andrea?

Did M say something about J? Did she tell A something? Ask something? Did J know M? Did he know A?

Does Michelle say something to Andrea about traffic or driving?

Does whatever Michelle say influence Andrea's driving or decision making? Does Andrea change her mind about something?

Is Michelle driving the car that kills Jim? If no, is she a passenger in that car?

Do Michelle and Andrea know each other on a personal level? If the call had occurred 15 minutes earlier, would Jim still have died?

Would this puzzle work if Jim were a young child?

Jim = walking, Andrea = walking, Michelle = not walking & not in a vehicle

So Michelle is staying where she is throughout the puzzle... is she indoors? At home? Would it be helpful to figure out where Michelle is specifically, or is general location good enough?

Jim is close enough to see and hear Andrea, right? Is he walking behind her? In front of her? Next to her?

Does Jim get hit by a car that is moving in reverse?

Did Jim think Andrea's ringtone was the signal to start walking? Did he have problems seeing? Did he rely on sound to know when it was safe to walk?

Did Jim think Andrea's ringtone was the signal to start walking? Did he have problems seeing? Did he rely on sound to know when it was safe to walk? Yes, yes and yes!

**********SPOILER**********

Jim and Andrea are both waiting at a pedestrian crossing. Jim is blind and so relies on a sound signal to know when it is safe to cross. Unfortunately, Andrea's ringtone sounds very similar to the signal so when Michelle calls, Jim thinks it is safe to cross but it is not and he steps into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

Thanks to everyone who took part and congrats to GalFisk for the solve!
