[android18] Window Pain

Postby android18 » Fri Jan 11, 2019 12:50 am

Time for another dead person puzzle, based on a story I read...

Charlie knew he was going to die when he looked out of the window.

Did he see something relevant? An army? Weather? A fire? Person/people? Relevant where he was? A house? An apartment? A business? A hospital? Did he know he was going to die because.... He would be killed there? By a person/people? By fire? Flood? Some other kind of disaster? Or would he die of natural causes? Perhaps because help couldn't reach him in time?

Yay, dead man puzzle!

Does he see one person? A couple of people? Many people? An angry mob? A concerned crowd? People in a relevant profession?

Will the person/people intend to kill him? Did he do something wrong? Illegal? Are they destroying the building?

Could he be in a store? A restaurant? A library? A church?

Interesting...does he believe he will die in the same manner that the person intends to kill him? Is it in fact the one relevant person who intends to kill him? Do all the people intend to?

If/when he dies, will it be murder? An execution? A self-defense related killing? Accidental in any way? Suicidal in any way?

Does he want to die?

Relevant that he's looking through a window? Would this work if he were looking through a glass door? The wall of a greenhouse? If the wall were missing entirely and he looked out through the opening?

Though the person/people will intend to kill him, do they not intend to kill him yet, when he looks out the window? Will they want to kill him when and if they learn something else? See something else? See him?
Is it the case that they don't want to kill him, but will be forced to?

Does he think they will enter the building? Does he need to leave the building? Is he unable to leave?

Though the person/people will intend to kill him, do they not intend to kill him yet, when he looks out the window? No, he realises that he will be killed due to what he sees upon looking through the window Will they want to kill him when and if they learn something else? See something else? See him? No to all
Is it the case that they don't want to kill him, but will be forced to? No

Does he think they will enter the building? Does he need to leave the building? Is he unable to leave? This

I think there may still be a potential FA here, so beware...

If another person was there instead, would they want to kill that person? If more people were there, would they want to kill all of them? Is there a war? Civil unrest? Is he locked inside? Bound? Stuck? Hurt? Handicapped? Guarded? Relevant how they intend to kill him?

I know you already said it's a dead *man* puzzle, but just to be absolutely sure, is Charlie a HAM? Time period relevant? Is it relevant what Charlie does for a living?

You said it would probably work if he were looking through glass doors, but not if the wall were missing. Is this because if the wall were missing he could escape? Is it relevant whether he's on the ground floor or not?

Will Charlie's murder be a byproduct of another goal of the person/group? Would that person still be there even if Charlie weren't? Would the group? Does the person/group have a vendetta against Charlie? Has he done something that has angered them? Hurt them? Does he represent something they are against?

Is he locked inside? Yope, no to rest Bound? Stuck? Hurt? Handicapped? Guarded? Relevant how they intend to kill him? Not really, assume via a gun

I know you already said it's a dead *man* puzzle, but just to be absolutely sure, is Charlie a HAM? Nope! HTM Time period relevant? Not really, assume modern Is it relevant what Charlie does for a living? Yope, explore

You said it would probably work if he were looking through glass doors, but not if the wall were missing. Is this because if the wall were missing he could escape? Is it relevant whether he's on the ground floor or not? No to both

Will Charlie's murder be a byproduct of another goal of the person/group? Noish Would that person still be there even if Charlie weren't? Presumably Would the group? Presumably Does the person/group have a vendetta against Charlie? No Has he done something that has angered them? Possibly Hurt them? Possibly Does he represent something they are against? Is Charlie human? Adult? Child? Female?
If not these, is Charlie an animal?
Is there a relevant activity going on inside the building? Outside of it? Are either of these directly related to Charlie?
Is the window one that is on an exterior wall of the building?
Can Charlie talk to anyone? Communicate in another way?
Will Charlie be killed directly (like stabbed or shot)? Or indirectly (like if he's a fish and someone breaks the aquarium he's in)?

Is Charlie a student? Is he a young offender? Is there a security measure preventing him from leaving? Is he physically restrained? Is Charlie able-bodied? Are school shootings relevant? Are there other people who are about to die with Charlie?

I think you may have been trying to flag this before, but I believe we have been working from the assumption that Charlie is indoors. Is this assumption correct? Are his attackers outside? Does he know them? Has he seen them before?

Is Charlie in the school library? A classroom? Another school room? And he can’t escape because the attackers are in the hallway or whatever right outside? Are the shooters fellow students?

I recall something about students being shot in the library at Columbine...

Wait, on Jan. 30th it was stated that the people who want him dead are not armed. But school shootings are relevant. Are they trying to get someone else to shoot up the school? When Charlie looks through the window, does he see a shooter/shooters? Does he see the person/people who will directly kill him? Does he see someone who will enable his death? Or order it? Does he see someone barricading the door?

Are teachers/school administrators trying to help the students? Trying to get them killed? Does this occur in the US?

Did Charlie know he was going to die shoot by an offender? Is Charlie going to commit suicide? (E.g. the danger came from the inside, but he knew he could not save himself so he looked out of the window to check the height of the building in order to throw himself outside?)

Another possibility, maybe, is that Charlie is the one armed and he is surrounded by police officers who would have either shoot him or arrested him, which would have lead to death penalty (assuming that the sentence "he knew he was going to die" is referred not necessarily to the immediate future...is it so?)

Relevant what he saw outside of the window? Did he realize that he was going to die once he looked outside of the window? Did he hope to escape from the window? But he saw that it was somehow locked/too high? Or maybe he had already been shoot once he looked outside of the window? Did he see bullet holes on the window? Broken glasses? Blood? His blood? He saw the reflection of himself and saw an armed man behind himself? Or he saw maybe the entity of his injury and realized that he was going to die...
