Are they athletes? Is it a field of play for some sport? Does the clothing they're wearing pertain to their profession(s)? Are their professions relevant? Were they placed in the field by another human? By more than one person? Did they fall into the field? Were their deaths an accident? Suicide? Did they die at work? In a hospital?

Hi Brian and a big welcome to the forum

Were they placed in the field to hide their bodies? or so that they would be discovered? Is this some sort of protest? a warning?

Has this anything to do with the short straw parachute story?

I neglected to issue you a welcome, Brian. Sorry! And welcome.

Are their professions relevant? Did they share a profession? Did they know each other? Are they friends? Co-workers? Father and son? Brothers? Married? Lovers? Another family relation?

Is their clothing identifiable as pertaining to a certain hobby or profession? Does it show a gang affiliation? Does it show that they are fans of something/someone?

Do the bodies display visible injuries? If you viewed the bodies would it be obvious how they died?

Did they die a considerable amount of time before the bodies were disvovered? Were they decomposed?

Did the driver own the truck? Did the truck carry valuables? Did the countermeasures make the men fall off? Did the driver ever notice that they were there? Did the countermeasures entail: making something slippery? Removing hand holds or fastening points? Making something sharp? Electrified? Ejecting smoke, sparks or other countermeasures as a response to a specific action? Were they inside the truck?

Did they want to steal from the truck? no
Did they want to hide in the truck in order to get into or out of an area they shouldn't? the answer is no but you may end up having a misperception as to what that means because your question supposes several different things, not all of which are accurate
Did the countermeasures make them fall off? Make them unsuccessful? no to both, by the way, you're down a false assumption path in terms of the countermeasures
Did they intend to move from the truck onto another vehicle? no

Was this a truck with a bed and cab? no to cab, and I'm not sure what you mean by bed, if you mean does the truck have a bed for the driver to sleep in: no, if you mean a bed as in the floor of the back of the truck, the truck in question does have a floor, not sure you'd call it a bed
Was it a semi? no

Yes, at least where I live the part of a regular pick-up where the driver and passengers sit is called the cab, and the outside bit on the back that you can haul stuff in would be called the truck bed, or just the bed. Unless I'm totally out to lunch, which I've sometimes been accused of being.

Is this a truck where there are two rows of seats in the interior? More? If so, were they in a row behind the driver? Is this a military vehicle? Is it a truck that is used for a certain industry or profession? If yes, is that industry/profession what the field is used for? Did these two guys die in a crash? Were they ejected from the vehicle? Did the driver die as well?

Potter's field relevant?
