[CoffeeBean] Photo Finish

A man goes on a trip. When he's driven halfway, he gets out of his car and takes a picture.

A travel trip? drug trip?

Halfway to his trip destination? Or halfway to something else?

Is "takes a picture" meant to be interpreted the same as "snaps a photo"? Or do you mean, "there is a picture there, and he takes it"?

Assuming the former, is it relevant what he uses to take the picture? Camera? Phone?
Does he take a picture of a specific object? Objects? Scenery?
Does he take the picture so that he will remember something? As proof/evidence?
Does this puzzle involve crime?

Is the car in the photo? Is it more relevant that he is halfway? Or that he is in a specific place? Is he trying to trick someone? To avoid being tricked?

A travel trip? Yes, this kind drug trip? Not this kind

Halfway to his trip destination? Or halfway to something else? You could say that both of these are accurate

Is "takes a picture" meant to be interpreted the same as "snaps a photo"? Yes, this
Or do you mean, "there is a picture there, and he takes it"? Not this

Assuming the former, is it relevant what he uses to take the picture? Camera? Phone? Could be either but most likely uses the camera feature on his phone
Does he take a picture of a specific object? Objects? Scenery? All of these
Does he take the picture so that he will remember something? As proof/evidence? This
Does this puzzle involve crime? Not yet, but...

Is the car in the photo? Maybe (it's not relevant) Is it more relevant that he is halfway? Yes
Or that he is in a specific place? This is very relevant, yes
Is he trying to trick someone? Not yet, but... To avoid being tricked? No

Does he expect that he might want to trick someone? Be forced to trick someone? Get the opportunity to trick someone?
Does the photo have relevant: building(s)? Landmark(s)? Landscape? Lighting? Structure(s)? Human(s)? Animal(s)? A date and/or time stamp? Is it a digital photo? Analog? Instant? Relevant?

Does he expect that he might want to trick someone? He knows that he wants to do this
Be forced to trick someone? No Get the opportunity to trick someone? Yes
Does the photo have relevant: building(s)? Yes, and... Landmark(s)? Landscape? ...this, and... Lighting? Structure(s)? ...this, and...Human(s)? ...this, and...Animal(s)? ...this.
A date and/or time stamp? Most likely yes
Is it a digital photo? Analog? Instant? Relevant? The only thing relevant is that he can show other people the photo easily and that it is recent

Does he want this evidence to protect himself ? If so, from a criminal? From an accusation? From the law? From something or someone else?

Does he want the evidence as ammunition to exert power over someone else?

Does he plan on showing this evidence to someone else? Will he show it only if something else goes wrong? If he shows it, will he show it to: a criminal? a victim? the law? friend? family member?

Does he photograph a farm? Possibly (this would actually work quite well) Zoo? No
Are the animals made to be there by humans? Yes Are they domesticated? Yes
Are the humans looking at the animals? Possible but not necessary
Looking after the animals? Not relevant
Does he want to prove that he was at this place? Pretend it was some other place? Yes to both

Does he want this evidence to protect himself ? If so, from a criminal? From an accusation? From the law? From something or someone else? No to all

Does he want the evidence as ammunition to exert power over someone else? Not exactly but explore

Does he plan on showing this evidence to someone else? Yes, for sure
Will he show it only if something else goes wrong? No

If he shows it, will he show it to: a criminal? No (at least not knowingly) a victim? Yes-ish
the law? No, most surely not friend? family member? Yes, both very likely

Does he intend to commit a crime? If so, is it murder? Theft? Fraud? Kidnapping? Trespassing? Is it a violent crime? White collar? Is the photograph to be used to establish an alibi? Is he going to try to trick: law enforcement? A family member? His employer? A victim of a potential crime? The family of the victim?

Does he know any of the people or animals he is photographing? Are the people his relatives? Friends? Are the animals pets? If so, pets belonging to the people in the photo? To him? Relevant what type of animal they are? When the man starts this trip, is he at home? Is his home the midway point of the trip? The final destination? Does the total trip take him more than a few hours? Does he cross any international borders? Relevant what the beginning or end points of the trip are? Does the trip have an end point that is different from the starting point? Is the most important part of the trip the taking of the photo? Arriving somewhere else? Being away from somewhere? Meeting somebody? Getting away from somebody?

You answered yes to this being a "white collar" crime. So would it be safe to say that acquiring money is the end goal? Or perhaps to avoid having to pay money? Are taxes relevant?

You also answered "no" to "fraud" being the crime? If fraud is defined as illegal deception for the purpose of financial gain, then is this fraud?

Is it relevant who actually owns the coyote? Is it a friend? family member?

If he can trick people into thinking that he knows something about coyotes and possibly that he owns them, will it benefit him because people will:

trust him?
invest money?
loan him something?
believe he has spent his time doing something other than what he has been doing?
believe he has good intentions?
believe he has expertise?

You answered yes to this being a "white collar" crime. So would it be safe to say that acquiring money is the end goal? Correct Or perhaps to avoid having to pay money? Are taxes relevant? No to both

You also answered "no" to "fraud" being the crime? If fraud is defined as illegal deception for the purpose of financial gain, then is this fraud? Aspects of it would be considered fraud under this definition, yes

Is it relevant who actually owns the coyote? Is it a friend? family member? Yes it is relevant - nobody owns it

If he can trick people into thinking that he knows something about coyotes and possibly that he owns them, will it benefit him because people will:

trust him? Yes
invest money? In a way
loan him something? No
believe he has spent his time doing something other than what he has been doing? Not really
believe he has good intentions? YES, very much so
believe he has expertise? Yes, this too
