[Doriana] Connections

Postby Doriana » Mon Jun 22, 2020 12:06 pm

This is a connections-style puzzle. The setter gives three clues to places, people, or objects, and your job is to find out what they are and how they are connected.

- A work of art -- EDIT: The work of art is a "sculpture" made of mashed potatoes and spinach
- A girl's name
- Pointed toes -- EDIT: This refers to practicing cartwheels

I'll go ahead and fill in the details: She makes a "sculpture" out of mashed potatoes and spinach: With her fork, she draws "roads" on her mashed potatoes and then adds spinach to represent trees.

RECAP

What we've discovered so far
- A work of art: The work of art is a "sculpture" made of mashed potatoes and spinach
- A girl's name: The name is a formerly popular name given to girls in the English speaking world, but no specific person with that name is relevant
- Pointed toes: Gymnastics is relevant.

We've also discovered that there's one relevant person who made the "sculpture" and does gymnastics (but beware of FA).

Did she make the sculpture at home? Was she already interested in gymnastics when she made the sculpture? Relevant what the sculpture is of more specifically, or can we assume a generic, unnamed landscape? Or a generic, but named landscape? Are you the girl? Was the sculpture named the old girl's name?

Are all the things connected because...

- They represent examples of the same thing or word?
- They can all be seen in the same place?
- They can be found one after the other, such as in a phrase?

You say that the sculpture is of roads and trees. Does it represent a place? A specific one? A real one? Would you dance there?

So you didn't like gymnastics, but you wanted to do it? Is it relevant why?

Is it relevant how old you were for any of the connections?

Did you come across the name in your work? When you were deciding what to name your child, if you have one? Tracing instances of it through your family tree? Is it relevant that it's a name that isn't as popular now? Is it an example of the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon?

So we have a mashed potato and spinach landscape made by you, practicing cartwheels done by you, the women's name Rosemary somehow connected to you, and there's more to it than just all of them being connected to you, correct?
Did the landscape and the cartwheels happen on the same day? Is the rosemary plant relevant at all? Imagination relevant? Playing?

Keep this question/answer from June 28 in mind:
Did you make the connections at the same time, or years apart? Both - explore

To performances? Relevant why you made the sculpture? Did you make it for the sake of making it? Using it? Were you playing with your food? Was the sculpture eventually eaten? If so, by you?

RECAP/HINT

We've found out that practicing cartwheels, making "landscapes" out of mashed potatoes and spinach, and the song Scarborough Fair are relevant. These three things are connected to me, both as an adult and as a child. Left to find out: One more detail about Scarborough Fair, and the exact connection to me at different ages.

We've found out that practicing cartwheels, making "landscapes" out of mashed potatoes and spinach, and the song Scarborough Fair are relevant --> is the connection the one of doing impossible things? Have you done such landscapes? Had someone else? If so as a child? With food on the dish? relevant? Is love relevant? Personal relationships? Is the song relevant for its text or as a song per se? I mean: is it relevant because it remembers something to you? Because it was the song of your wedding? Because someone used to sing it? Because it was the first song you learned to play? Someone sang it to you? Because it was released in a relevant year? Or maybe you sang it? You sang it to take the time? To perform the cartwheel (e.g. tempo or something along this lines)? (relevance as a song per se) or because something similar happened to you? e.g. in theater? or maybe someone asked you to do impossible things for the sake of love? Or you asked someone? (relevance for its lyrics/words)

Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme relevant? Rosemary = remember me? Rosemary = a name? The girl's name? Is it connected to spinach somehow? Or the clue was only for guessing Scarborough Fair?

"landscapes" out of mashed potatoes and spinach --> relevant which landscapes? specific ones?
practicing cartwheels --> did you manage to do cartwheels as a child? To do it now as an adult? is falling relevant? Vitruvian man (strange question I know)? Do you teach to do cartwheels to someone else? Maybe to teach power of will? Relevant where did you practice cartwheels? Air the beach? On the sand? Competitions relevant? Music relevant?

exact connection to me at different ages. --> is the connection something that persist in your life (i.e. that was always with you/not abandon you)? Or maybe something that appeared at different stages of your life from time to time?

Since the other thing to guess is a girl's name, does this latter thing refer to your name? Does the name of the girl make the connection to you at different ages? Your daughter maybe? To be sure: the first name of the girl? The second name? Is she a real world girl? Someone connected to you? You? Maybe a composite name that remember all the three things found out?
