He did not even register. But Flip is a fighter, and is determined to win through. My money is on him.

He=Flip? Flip = HAM? Is he participating in a competition? A physical fight? A sports event?

Does register here mean signing up to a competition? An organisation? A website? A contest? Or does it mean to perceive something/someone?

Your money is on him: a bet? With money? You literally placed money on top of him?

Is Flip’s life in danger?

Relevant that the three sentences are separated one to the other? Is a pun involved? Is the pun on Flip? Is Fllip a name? Could it have been Filip (which by the way means "friend of horses")?

He did not even register = he did not book for something? He did not write his name on a list? Do people usually register? Do people who register have a benefit? The right to do something? To be served? To be first in a relevant order? Or maybe is being registered a sign of importance (e.g. they play chess. People registered at the FIDE have an high Elo and hence are seen as the strongest ones)
Could one win or lose only if he/she is not registered? Only if he/she is registered? Is winning or losing dependent on the subject or on random components (e.g. winning a fight/challenge vs winning the lottery)?

Is Flip disadvantaged because he is not registered? Could anyone register? Has the registration some requisites? Does Flip fulfill them?

Is Flip’s life in danger?yessish - or has been.

Relevant that the three sentences are separated one to the other? Is a pun involved? Is the pun on Flip? Is Fllip a name? Flip is a name I have given him. There is sort of a pun involved, which will be revealed when the puzzle is solved.Could it have been Filip (which by the way means "friend of horses")? No.

He did not even register = he did not book for something? He did not write his name on a list? No, n.r. Do people usually register? Most people do, but Flip is not people.Do people who register have a benefit? The right to do something? An advantage, but perhaps not a 'benefit' or a 'right.;To be served? To be first in a relevant order? Or maybe is being registered a sign of importance (e.g. they play chess. People registered at the FIDE have an high Elo and hence are seen as the strongest ones) all no or n.r.i
Could one win or lose only if he/she is not registered? Only if he/she is registered? Is winning or losing dependent on the subject or on random components (e.g. winning a fight/challenge vs winniing the lottery.Registering would be a big advantage, but may not be necessary. Winning the lottery n.r., but you might say ihe is in a challenge.
Hint: consider all meanings of the word 'register.'

Has the registration some requisites? Yes.Does Flip fulfill them? He did not. --> because of something physical? height? because of something he made? because of financial reasons?

Flip = HAM?No --> HCM? HAF? animal? fantasy character? mannequin? inanimate object? e.g. a model airplane? a model boat? a turtle? a snail? are speed races relevant?

register = he di not sun something? He did not fill out a form? registered by someone (e.g. by the owner)? are we talking about a formal registration? An informal one? are the criteria to be registered chosen by someone? by rules? by official rules?

“Register” as in Flip didn’t notice something?

Does Flip have a relevant medical issue? Has he had one before? Is he recovering from treatment? Had he had surgery?

Is Flip’s life in danger?yessish - or has been.
Is the danger from humans? other cats? dogs? other animals? the surrounding environment? illness? starvation/thirst? Is someone/something trying to kill him?
Is the danger increased because he did not register? Will it be reduced if he achieves his goal?

Has Flip a missing paw? (so that his weight would have been altered) Is weighting necessary for something? Being adopted? Not registering weight = not noticing his medical condition?

Did someone decide not to weight Flip? Or he passed unnoticed? Was he discarded? veterinary relevant?

Are only cats registered? Also other animals?
Are animals (cats?) weighted on a scale? By humans? On a digital scale? By computers? Is their weight noted somewhere? On a paper? On a computer? Communicated to someone?

This is so close, I am going to post the
*************SPOILER8**********************
Janice found an abandoned kitten with deformed paws on her property. She took it to the local Animal Rescue people, who took it to a vet. When the vet weighed him, he did not even register on the scales, which could not weigh anything less than 1 pound. The vet theorized that Mama Cat had ingested poison, which caused the bones to not develop in his front paws, which sort of flip and flap around loosely. However, he is a fiesty little scrap, and tried to claw the vet's staff with his back paws and ravage them
with his teeth! So the DVM gave him a good prognosis.

The A.R. folks took him and bottle fed him, and he is thriving, and may be able to go 'home' soon - but he has no home and could not survive on the streets. Janice has big dogs and could not take him in, but she called her sister Grace, who lives near me. Grace just recently lost her long-time pet Turtle (yes, a cat) and was looking to replace her. So Grace will soon be making the 600 mile drive to Oklahoma (one way - 1200 miles round trip) to pick up her new adoptee. He will be strictly a house cat, and there is no reason he should not live a long, happy, and spoiled rotten life.

And I thought I was a crazy cat lady!
